Project : Private Garden UK
Inspiration: Joseph Beuys & Art as Therapy
The Concept of Social Sculpture
In the spirit of Joseph Beuys’ belief that "every human being is an artist," this project moves beyond the canvas and into the living landscape. By envisioning this figure as a sculpture in a private or public garden, the artist creates a "Social Totem"—a physical structure designed to catalyze healing and self-reflection. The work does not just represent an emotion; it acts as a permanent, therapeutic presence in the environment.
The sculpture will interact with the changing light and the cycle of the seasons. This choice highlights the Art as Therapy aspect; just as a garden requires tending, so does the psyche. The sculpture becomes a landmark for the "tiny navigator" to return to, a place where the "Identity Loss" of the modern world is replaced by a grounded, physical connection to one's own internal form.

"A psychic blueprint of the internal self. Where do your emotions travel before they are ever spoken?" 🛤️✨Sometimes we feel like small navigators in a world of overwhelming feelings. This drawing explores the "transit lines" of the psyche—the loops, the detours, and the constant motion of our inner world.
I wanted to capture the idea that emotions are meant to be passed through, not inhabited permanently. Everything is in transit.

Collision . ( Ink on paper)
The drawing illustrates the moment of collision between my inner world (soft, looping forms) and the outer world (sharp, rigid structures). The dense cross-hatching attempts to contain and crush the free-flowing lines of emotion. This is the visual manifestation of the stress and disorientation—the "confusion"—caused by living Ambos Mundos.

Ambos Mundos /Both Worlds 🌎 Tea and ink
Ambos Mundos is a profound statement on hybridity. It celebrates the confusion not as an end, but as a fertile state—the necessary, complex, and beautiful entanglement required to build a new, whole self from two deeply felt worlds.

Map of Exile.
These intense drawing process, created on the intimate scale of A4 paper, move beyond simple architecture to present a direct visualization of the displaced mind. The composition centers on a luminous, labyrinthine form—the brain itself—where two decades of life, memory, and cultural pressure converge into a complex, exposed network.
The surrounding atmospheric chaos and the solitary, silhouetted figures walking the perimeter illustrate the individual's journey: not through a geographical space, but through a mental landscape defined by duality and turbulence. Displacement, in this work, is redefined as a geography of the self.
A monumental psychological statement captured in the most personal of formats.

The stages and The repetitive Voids. Paper and ink
The work articulates the experience of transnational identity. The artist is grappling with how to reconcile a rich, Cuban heritage with nearly two decades of life in the UK.
The cylindrical structures can be seen as metaphorical architecture of the self—structures that are both personal and universal. They are a monument to the emotional and cultural baggage carried across borders, and the persistent effort required to create a new, stable self within a foreign environment. The structures are unstable in their rendering (cross-hatching that implies fragility) yet dominant in their scale, mirroring the experience of feeling simultaneously established and vulnerable in an adopted home.
In essence, these sketches are not merely drawings of objects, but cartographies of the mind, charting the uneasy intersection of memory, architecture, and identity forged over two decades of displacement and adaptation.

Rush Hour
Presenting my new mixed-media piece, "Rush Hour." This work captures the dizzying urgency and anonymity of the modern crowd. The stylized, blurred figures seem to rush past, traversed by sharp vertical lines of red and yellow that suggest barriers, time, or the constant threat of the city.
The raw surface and aggressive use of spray paint emphasize the tension and instability of mass movement.
Do you ever feel this intensity when you're in a crowd?

Title: Identity Loss
This new mixed media piece, "Identity Loss," captures the feeling of standing still while the world moves chaotically around you. The faceless, heavy form—built up with thick impasto—contrasts sharply with the aggressive lines, graffiti tags, and dripping reds of the background.
It's about the search for self within the static and noise of the modern urban landscape.

Inner Focus.
Stepping away from the visual noise with "Inner Focus." This piece is a study in quiet contemplation, rendered through bold charcoal strokes and delicate guiding lines. It's about the beauty found in the resting mind and the weight of deep thought.
This one felt like a necessary pause. Wishing everyone a moment of calm today.

Third Vision .
So excited to share "Third Vision" with you all! This painting was a journey into the idea of seeing beyond the obvious, of the hidden perspectives within us. I loved playing with the stark contrast and that almost dreamlike, inner gaze.

"Good Pipe" and the Cuban Archipelago.
This dark, outsized object symbolize the oppressive weight of a grand, yet ultimately dark or failed, revolutionary narrative a 'pipe dream' that has calcified into a heavy reality.
The composition is a powerful piece of social commentary contrasting the vast scale of a historic idea with the small, vulnerable scale of the people who live within its legacy.

Quieres que te haga el cuento de la buena p**a?..

The images show the end of one cycle (the ash from a finished smoke) but also the instrument to begin the next cycle (the pipe). This creates a visual loop: the pipe produces the ash, the pipe is cleaned, the pipe is refilled, the pipe produces ash again...
The use of four panels to show the same simple scene (ash and a pipe) from slightly different angles mimics the repetitive, circular nature of the "El cuento." in a way, "stuck in the loop," asking the viewer, "Do you want to see the story of the good pipe? Here is its ash. Here is its ash again. Here is the pipe. Here is the pipe again."
In essence, this piece has deconstructed the idiom "the story of the good pipe" and presented it as a visual meditation on source and trace, action and memory, and the cyclical nature of a ritual.
The composition presents a powerful metaphor for the process of history, memory, and the lasting residue of an idea or civilization, particularly one tied to the complexities of a place like the Cuban Archipelago.
