Brighouse Folk Session Takes place on the third Monday of each month, from 8 pm at the Commercial Railway Inn, Brighouse. Founded and run by Paul and Rita Stead.

A folk music session where everyone joins in … you don’t have to sit and wait your turn.

Things have been very busy at Brighouse Folk Session HQ, so apologies for the late notice - but the Brighouse Folk Session will definitely be taking place tonight, Monday, the 15th June from 8 pm at the Commercial Railway Inn, Brighouse. Everyone is welcome to join in with playing or singing folk tunes and songs, or just come and have a listen.

What a lovely session tonight - although we were missing a few regulars, we still had a lovely time. A lovely mix of instruments - bass, two guitars, Irish bouzouki, melodeon, ukelele, harmonica, percussion, flute and viola plus people watching and joining in with the singing. Thank for the supper, Trevor and Susan and thanks to Ryan for looking after us. Well done to the Commercial pool team who only narrowly lost to the top of the league team - no disgrace there at all 👏👏

We had a lovely (and lively) session last night, with some new people coming along as well as regulars. We had a wide range of instruments: flute, fiddles (three), ukekeles (two), guitars (three), bouzouki, concertina, melodeon, mouth organs, percussion and viola. Lots of songs sung, as well as plenty of tunes. Thank you to Trevor and Susan for hosting us and providing supper.
