Arts centres change lives โ€“ and now thereโ€™s clear evidence of how.

Weโ€™ve launched a new Model of Change that shows how creativity and culture help people feel welcome, build confidence, connect with others, and find new direction over time.

From first visits to lifelong involvement, arts centres create the conditions where change becomes possible โ€“ for individuals, communities and places.

Weโ€™d love to hear your stories. How has your local arts centre made a difference to you, your friends or your family?

Experience time through the power of dance.
The curiosity of an acrobat and a juggler leads them to seek each other out, in a show that combines exceptional dance, acrobatics and juggling. In the West, time is measured, bought, sold, planned and organised... but there is almost never enough of it. By contrast, in Africa time is experienced, it is something you have, something you do, an asset that is almost never lacking. Otempodiz is the result of an exchange and creation project between Euskadi and Mozambique, which shows the power of dance for experiencing time in an absolute present.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

โฐ YOU HAVE THE CLOCK. WE HAVE THE TIME.

What if we stopped measuring time โ€” and started experiencing it?

๐ŸŒ Otempodiz brings together artists from Euskadi and Mozambique in a joyful, physical encounter between dance, acrobatics and juggling.

In the West, time is something we measure, organise, buy and sell. But in many parts of Africa, time can be understood differently: something to live, share and experience.

Two performers meet. They play. They move. They search for each other.

And suddenly, the clock doesn't seem quite so important.

๐Ÿ“ธ The nationwide tour of Our Freedom: Then and Now continues this August, with two new presentations in arriving in Yorkshire.

The exhibition will be on display at:

โ€ข Barnsley Civic, South Yorkshire: 11 August โ€“ 3 September
โ€ข Leeds Libraries (Leeds Central Library), West Yorkshire: 11 August โ€“ 3 September

Created from 60 locally led photography projects, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the freedoms gained 80 years ago at the end of the Second World War, and how communities across the UK understand freedom today. Each venue on the tour contributed to the wider programme, with 22 photographers from Open Eye Gallery's Socially Engaged Photography Network collaborating with people of all ages and backgrounds to explore identity, history and connection.

After launching at the Southbank Centre earlier this year, the exhibition continues to travel to arts centres and libraries nationwide throughout 2026. Explore the full tour schedule: https://ourfreedom.org.uk/exhibition/

Our Freedom: Then and Now is delivered by Future Arts Centres in partnership with LibrariesConnected and Open Eye Gallery, supported using public funding by the UK Government Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport through Arts Council England.

Have you ever walked through Bell Square and wondered why people were standing in a crowd, laughing together?

This Saturday is your chance to find out.

We're bringing one of the world's most inventive outdoor performances to Hounslowโ€”and it's completely free.

Smashed by Gandini Juggling blends astonishing skill with visual theatre and laugh-out-loud comedy. You don't need to know anything about circus or contemporary performance to enjoy it. In fact, many people who think it's "not for them" end up becoming its biggest fans.

No tickets. No dress code. No experience required.

Just turn up, find a place to stand or sit, and let the show do the rest.
