As National Carers Week comes to an end, I wanted to share a piece of my heart and my family 💜
This is my Grandad. Like so many families navigating Dementia, we know firsthand the reality of being a carer.
It is a role fueled by pure love, but it requires a level of strength that is hard to put into words. It is beautiful, it is heartbreaking, and it is exhausting. As a carer, you so easily forget to focus on yourself, and you quickly realise you have to stick together as a family to get through it.
Living this behind the scenes is why I feel such a profound respect for the community we’ve built. Every week, I talk to so many ladies in our classes, and I hear your stories. I know that some of you are caring for a parent. Some are caring for your husbands. And some of my ladies are even caring for children who require full time care.
The sheer strength it takes to carry that responsibility every single day is immense.
If our classes give you just one hour to step out of that heavy role, to breathe, and to have some time just for you, then I am so incredibly grateful. We are a family here too, and you are never walking this path alone.
In a world where you can be anything, please be kind. You never know what mountain the person next to you is climbing 🤍
