🌊 Second session for World Oceans Day at Grange Residential Care Home in Leeds🐢

This week, residents created these colourful window decorations with their chosen sea creature. A lot of work is involved with these, so I was pleased everyone managed to finish them completely!

The light coming through these really make them glow, so they’re ideal for the dining room windows where everyone can see them. ☀️

🐠 Watery artwork featuring sea creatures at Adel Grange Residential Care Home in Leeds this week🐬

This is the first of two sessions for World Oceans Day - here we used bold liquid watercolour to make sea themed backgrounds, then created various critters with Inktense pencils to ‘swim’ in them.

It was so lovely to have a new face join us for this one and everyone put so much effort into their pieces 💙🩵

🌊 Ocean themed stained glass plates at Anchor - Sandholme Fold this week !🐬

Participants had a variety of creatures to choose from for their motif and everyone picked something different today. We focused on the main design first, then the background and then finally the frame.

The finished pieces look wonderful in the windows, especially when the sun is shining.

Well done to those that joined in on such a hot day! ☀️

🔘🟣🟡 A colourful Kandinsky inspired group project completed at Adel Grange Residential Care Home in Leeds this week 🟢🟠🔘

Participants used luscious watercolour pastels in a variety of colour palettes to make their mini artworks - then, they were all put together on a box canvas.

Everyone was very pleased when I showed them the finished piece! It will look wonderful on display in the entrance to the home. ❤️

🪻🪾 More beautiful bluebell landscapes, this time at Anchor - Savile Park in Halifax 🪾🪻

Such concentration from everyone on this tricky subject - not an easy theme but everyone got stuck in with little hesitation.

I love seeing new faces join our art sessions and its even better hearing such positive comments afterwards about how much they enjoyed it!

🪾 Wonderful woodland landscapes with bluebells this week at Anchor - Sandholme Fold in Halifax🪻

Some fantastic efforts this session, with our art made using soft pastel - a messy medium but no one shied away from it and fully embraced techniques to blend and layer the colours.

A lovely morning, thank you everyone 🩵💜💙

🌼 Gorgeous garden decorations finished and on display at Adel Grange Residential Care Home in Leeds 🌸

I had a request to create something to brighten up the garden in a session so decided on some vibrant floral themed art.

We used layered oil pastels for texture and interest with some added stripes of varying tones. A touch of baby oil helped with some of the blending too.

They match well with their pretty bird house and rainbow bunting!
Such lovely results 🩷💛💙

🌳 Brilliant bluebell wood themed artwork created at Oak Lodge Care Home in Bradford this week🪾

Residents used blended soft pastel to make their drawings come to life - a couple decided to do their own thing, so we ended up with some portrait and still life work too!

Really wonderful efforts from everyone! ❤️

🌸 Beautiful blossom at Anchor - Sandholme Fold this week ! 🌸

Residents used watercolours for this session and they also had the option of using my handmade stamps for the floral element if they wished.

Such a lovely variety of artwork was made, with some painting all their own cherry blossom and others taking a more abstract approach.

It was great to hear all the positive comments at the end of our morning - “I really enjoyed that” and “thank you, I always look forward to your visits” !
They are really appreciated 🩷
