If you’re visiting our spaces and spot an adder, take a moment to appreciate these shy, protected snakes. 🐍

Adders are a fascinating part of our native wildlife:
✨ one of only three native snake species in the UK
🌿 live in open habitats, like heathland and conifer woodland
⚖️ help to keep ecosystems in balance

Adders usually avoid people and dogs, but for safety, visitors should remain on paths and keep dogs under close control.

The chance of being bitten is very low, but bites can be serious. If you suspect an adder bite (person or dog), stay calm, keep still and seek prompt medical or veterinary advice.
