Vintage spoons πŸ’› wearable jewellery

Come and see how I turn forgotten cutlery into rings, bangles and gifts that are genuinely one of a kind. No mass production. No fast fashion. Just handmade pieces with a story.

Catch me at the Eastleigh College Summer Fair next Saturday and come have a browse.

Your future favourite ring might have started life as someone's nan's teaspoon. πŸ˜„πŸ₯„πŸ’

Vintage or Antique? What's the difference? πŸ€”

I often describe my spoon rings as being made from vintage cutlery, but what does that actually mean?

✨ Vintage generally refers to items that are 20–99 years old.

✨ Antique refers to items that are 100 years old or more.

So a spoon made in 1960 would be vintage, while a spoon made in 1925 would now be considered antique.

Most of the cutlery I transform into jewellery falls into the vintage category, although every now and then I come across an antique treasure.

Contemporary pieces occasionally find their way into my workshop too, especially when they have an interesting pattern that's crying out for a second life!

One thing worth knowing: older doesn't always mean more valuable. Design, rarity, craftsmanship and condition can all be just as important as age.

Whatever their age, I love giving forgotten cutlery a new purpose and a new story. ❀️

Would you rather wear a ring made from a vintage spoon or an antique one? 😊

A little TLC before the transformation begins! ✨

This vintage Swedish teaspoon had seen better days, so out came the Silvo. Tarnish isn't actually dirt – it's a natural reaction between silver and the air over time. A gentle polish helps bring back the shine without damaging the silver plating.

Now it's sparkling and ready for its next chapter. Watch this space... πŸ‘€

Today, a lovely customer told me my prices were too cheap… not something you hear every day! πŸ˜„

We ended up chatting about that tricky balance between keeping handmade pieces affordable and recognising the time, skill and individuality behind them. Interestingly, people often associate higher prices with higher quality too β€” so pricing can really shape perception.

For context:
✨ Silver plated spoon rings: Β£15–£20
✨ Bangles/bracelets: Β£25–£35
✨️ Pendants: £20-£28

I genuinely appreciated the feedback and it’s definitely given me something to think about for the future.

What are your thoughts on handmade pricing? πŸ’›
