Last night, a few of our members he an 'Evening with the 94th' event featuring a presentation on various WW2 weapons / equipment and a 3 course meal at Leigh Masonic Hall. The event was very well received and we look forward to organising more of these events in future!

We're looking forward to welcoming the 94th Field Regiment to War Wheels 2026!

The 94th Field Regiment are a newly formed branch of the Garrison Artillery Volunteers and this year will be bringing the 6Pdr, 17Pdr and 25Pdr field guns for several firing demonstrations throughout the weekend. Aswell as the guns, the 94th will also bring a selection of associated equipment and vehicles (more on that later)!

The GAV concentrates its efforts on portraying basic Territorial Artillery regiments of the Royal Artillery with a 25 Pdr Troop each in Wiltshire and Lancashire a section in Yorkshire and Sub sections in Bristol and Essex. The Battery covers all element from Survey, Command Post, REME support as well as the Guns.

The season is nearly here and we're looking forward to getting back out there! The 6Pdr will be out at several events this year.

Winter is usually a good time for a little tinkering and maintenance, but sometimes it can go a little further! One of our Jeeps blew a head gasket last year (not a big issue) but, when the head was removed, it was found that one of the sleaves had slipped. The decision was taken to to do a full rebuild on the engine as this vehicle had been on the road for 20 years and does a good amount of milage.

The front end has been stripped down, the engine removed / stripped and will be heading to the engineers this week to have the block, head & crank skimmed along with some other smaller jobs. All being well, it should be back together in time for a first events of 2026 in May.

We'll post some more updates as we get them.

Our very own Pete Newell is raising money for a fantastic cause: The Great Tommy Sleep Out!

Pete says: "During the month of March, I'm taking on The Great Tommy Sleep Out. I'll be sleeping outside for one night to fundraise for RBVE (Royal British Veterans Enterprise) and raise awareness for homeless ex-servicemen and women.

I'd love your support in helping me make a difference. Royal British Veterans Enterprise has been helping those in need for over 100 years, providing support to the armed forces community, individuals with disabilities, and those who have become unemployed.

Several of our members attended the 2025 edition of the Classic Motor Show, held at the NEC, Birmingham in November 2025. The display consisted of the 25 PDR Gun set, Morris CDSW, 6PDR, Airborne Jeep and several smaller items.
