I’ve got to sort out the spare room chaos as ‘mother’ is coming to stay! I know I put this away last year as I’d reached the 2nd corner, got hemmed in and run out of bobbins as I’m using all my favourites for Milanese projects!
It’s such a beautiful Christine Sringett pattern, Birds and Berries. Started in 2024, I wonder when I’ll finish it!

Enjoyed making this piece, just came across it in my sample book. I chose the colours as a nod to the suffragettes and I like that the pattern has a hint of art nouveau to it.

I wanted to practice a few techniques in Claire’s new book so enlarged a pattern I designed for the Honiton module on the Bristol course back in the early ‘90s.
I worked one wing in Honiton rib and roll techniques and the other wing in Milanese/Withof techniques.
Can’t wait to flip it over and see the different effects from the different techniques.
All packed up and ready to finish it at our Stour Lacemakers group this Saturday, an all day meet with guests joining us from Poole lacemakers.

Finally got my hands on Claire Bonito’s fantastic new book, a comprehensive guide to Modern Milanese lace, complete with step by step photos and diagrams, as well as new patterns. Ideal for beginners and experienced lace makers and sure to become an important teaching resource.
I love this graphic motif style of lace, it has endless design potential. Well done Claire, it’s brilliant, thank you for putting this book together @ Bonitocrafts

Learning modern Milanese and Withof techniques through some of Claire Bonito’s patterns and Ulrike Voelcker’s Mitt Rippe und Rolle book this year has been a joy.
