SHE CREATES - VINYL DJ WORKSHOP! 🎧

As part of our next She Creates event, we’re excited to be offering three intimate vinyl mixing workshops, led by She Creates co-founder Toni Grehan. Toni, also founder of Variations, is a passionate vinyl collector. She loves nothing more than building her collection and playing records in clubs and at festivals, and loves introducing others to the joy of mixing on vinyl.

These sessions are designed for women and non-binary DJs who already mix digitally and are curious about making the move to vinyl.

With just two people per workshop, you’ll have plenty of hands-on time and the chance to ask lots of questions in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Together we’ll cover:
• Beat matching by ear & finding the cue.
• Looking after your vinyl & understanding the equipment.
• Practical tips to help you feel confident using turntables.

Whether you’ve always wanted to try vinyl or you’re looking to build your confidence behind a pair of turntables, this is a gentle introduction with no pressure just a chance to learn, experiment and have fun.

What a brilliant Saturday afternoon at our She Creates take over for the Brum Rising series at the Midlands Arts Centre - MAC ✨

Four incredibly talented women, each with their own unique sound, story and style!

It was such a powerful reminder of just how much talent we have right here in Birmingham and it deserves to be recognised and given more opportunities to shine & that’s what She Creates is all about ❤️

There is something really special about seeing our local artists given a platform to be heard, celebrated and supported. Birmingham is absolutely bursting with creativity, here is to celebrating our homegrown talent and making sure more people get to hear it 🎤

Create your own beaded bloom, a She Creates workshop by MAKE & TADA! 🌸

Join MAKE & TADA! for a relaxing, hands-on workshop as part of She Creates full day take over at Alfred Works. Paint your own mini terracotta pot, create a beautiful wire beaded flower, and finish your design with an exclusive laser-engraved She Creates plant marker. 🪴

No experience is needed, just bring your creativity! You’ll leave with a unique handmade keepsake to brighten your home or workspace ❤️

Times: 1:30-2:30 & 3:00-4:00
Workshop length: 1 hour, both workshops are the same so please only book the hour you can attend.

She Creates is back at Alfred Works THIS SATURDAY with alison e-c taking over the decks 6pm - 10:30pm 🪩

alison e-c is a veteran of the DJ and club scene and taking a 2nd bite of the cherry. As DiscoPussy in the 00’s she has played at legendary nights such as Jigsaw, Leftfoot supporting Gilles Peterson, and at the Garden Festival - Croatia.

She currently plays at STIR as “the e-c’s” with her husband Nathan, playing across the tempos from dub, soul, jazz, boogie, funk, Latin, world music, disco, US garage and house. If it moves her or makes her move, she plays it from her heart 🕺 ❤️

We have She Creates DJs Charlie Elizabeth & TONI dj spinning tunes from 3:30 to get you warmed up for lahliacole, 🎧 AFFIE // AFFIEJAM 🎤 & Eddy Luna 🎤

Plus poet & paper lover will be hosting a drop in, laid back and relaxed poetry workshop from 4pm where you can take a break and get creative with your words 📝
