Midland Chamber Orchestra Birmingham's leading amateur chamber orchestra performing classical music in the Midlands.

The Midland Chamber Orchestra is a non-profit, amateur chamber orchestra, based in Birmingham. They regularly perform 3-4 concerts a year, their repertoire mainly consisting of classical, baroque, and romantic music. Founded in 2018, their members include teachers, students, young professionals and recent conservatoire alumni. The orchestra's main focus is on quality of music, rehearsing and worki

ng hard to produce high-standard, enjoyable performances. MCO supports emerging young artists from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, providing a platform for solo performance with orchestra. They have also featured alongside other notable music groups in Birmingham, such as the Vivat Choir when they performed Vivaldi's Gloria in 2019. MCO are one of the very few Birmingham amateur orchestras which performed online during lockdown 2020. Due to our demanding repertoire, MCO's requirements for members are Grade 7 minimum for strings, and Grade 8 minimum for woodwind.

In our Spring concert we will be joined by young musicians from Hallfield School. The Chamber Choir will be performing excerpts from Vivaldi's Gloria, and the programme will also feature famous classical works, including 'Winter' from Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' and Haydn's 'Surprise Symphony'. Tickets are available online and at the door, but book early to avoid queues! We'll see you at St George's Church, Edgbaston, Moseley on Saturday 14th March 🎻 Group discounts available online.
