"From Handel’s Zadok to Haydn’s Creation, joyous Bach and a capella Mozart, there was a feast of peerless music-making in the kind of living, breathing choral expertise that makes this group, under the titanic Jeffrey Skidmore, a global phenomenon."

Congratulations to Jeffrey, John Moore and all the performers, and thank you to Shropshire Music Trust for inviting us to create this programme.

"That was such a transcendant experience it almost felt wrong to clap but we wanted to show the choir how much we LOVED it" - a lovely quote from an audience member with us at a very toasty St Martin-in-the-Fields for Rachmaninoff Vespers this evening.

This programme gets two more outings this year; join us at Lichfield Cathedral with Lichfield Festival on 10 July or Gloucester Cathedral as part of Three Choirs Festival on 26 July to hear this glorious piece!

Rachmaninoff Vespers, St James the Greater, 16.05.26 ✨

What a treat it was to perform this programme in the beauty of St James the Greater, Leicester, with soloists James Robinson and Martha McLorinan, and bell preludes performed by Simone Rebello.

A huge thank you to the super appreciative audience that joined us! We'll next be performing this awe-inspiring piece on Thursday 28 May at St Martin-in-the-Fields, London.

Introducing...the Ex Cathedra 2026-27 season!

Jeffrey introduces the new season: "My final season as Artistic Director after 58 years! Hard to believe – so much music, so many musicians, singers, players, dancers, composers, musicologists, linguists, producers, sound engineers, administrators, pupils, students, teachers, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, trustees, so many wonderful friends and relationships. What an extraordinary legacy! This programme, featuring some of the greatest music ever written, is a tribute and a thank you to them all – from my heart."
