Tiny microscopic minerals become trapped inside the growing crystal. Rutile and black tourmaline slowly grow into delicate, dark needles - permanently suspended within the quartz.
And over millennia, these tiny inclusions weave themselves into the mesmerising, web-like patterns we see in Rutilated Quartz.
