Follow the river from Appledore and you’ll get to the ‘little white town’ of Bideford.
So called because of the many white houses 🏘️ 🌳
For a little coastal town, it has a big heart ❤️ The community here is strong and the beautiful businesses many
Although there maybe naysayers who hanker after Primarni’s and the Woolies of yesteryear, Bideford is up and coming with a market and independent shops by the bucketload! It’s a fantastic place to visit.
Next to the river with a park and beautiful quay, you get much more bang for your buck here, and all within easy reach of everywhere else 💕
Do you dream of visiting or living by the sea? With Bideford, it’s not only doable, it’s Bidefordable - Much more bang for your buck ! 😊 💕

We definitely don’t post enough photos of our Team, so this is here to help rectify that! They truly are the backbone of our business. ❤️

Here’s three of them on Millie’s last day with us last weekend, before she headed off on an amazing new adventure. ✊

Millie’s been with us for four years, and she wrote Joe a lovely card telling him how much of a factor he’d been in her journey towards landing a job in a Michelin kitchen. ✨

She also wrote about how he’d helped build her confidence and her understanding of “the importance of strong ethics in a small business and high standards.”

Those words really struck us.

Because being a boss isn’t just about running a business, paying wages and getting the job done. You have a responsibility to the people who work for you. To help them, encourage them, give them confidence, set high standards and, hopefully, leave them a little better equipped for whatever comes next.

And sometimes you don’t realise quite how much of an impact you’ve had until someone like Millie writes it down.

To think that the shy young teenager who started with us four years ago is now heading off to work in a Michelin kitchen, with the confidence to take that next step, makes us ridiculously proud. 😊

Hospitality can be a tough business to be the boss in, but we’ve always believed that if you treat your people well, respect them, invest in them and genuinely care about their development, they’ll give you so much more than just their hours.

They become your team. They have your back and they will help to build the business alongside you.

So, Millie — we wish you the world on a plate. ✊👏 You’ve absolutely earned it.

And to Team TAB 🙌👊 — we salute every single one of you. You are, without question, the heart of what we do. 🫡❤️

We’ve had some gorgeous reviews over on Google over the years, but also two where people have just left one star and no words! What’s that about? 🤷‍♀️
Reviews can make or break a small business and unfortunately social media makes it easy for people to be anonymously mean with no ramifications for the meanie.
The old British adage goes, ‘if you haven’t got anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all’ … and in some cases that’s true when you don’t need to hurt people’s feelings. Yes, that might be an odd haircut in your eyes, but if it makes them happy, let them stay happy 😃 but if you do a have a genuine gripe about a small business or service, do the following ..
⭐️ Say it at the time, so they can do something about it. Telepathic tendencies are preferable rather than essential in most jobs descriptions! Our Team’s are pretty good to be fair, but not infallible.

⭐️ Write to the company privately, so they can rectify the issue. You could end up with a free meal, gift or coffee ☕️

⭐️ If nothing gets done, then maybe then it’s the time to make a comment on social media, but in a constructive, non-malicious and non-anon way🧌🚫

⭐️ Don’t just put one star because you felt robbed for toppings or the loo roll’s run out?? Ask for more toppings and let them know loo roll is required.
A review is for life, not just for kicks. Name and shame by all means if totally valid and justified, but saying and doing nice things makes everyone’s day 💕
