Persistence pays off: the long game of motherhood. During March I am focusing on the topic of grit.
As busy mums, we juggle a million thingsâwork, kids, home, and everything in between. Itâs easy to feel impatient when progress is slow, whether in our careers, parenting or personal goals. But real success comes from endurance, not just enthusiasm.
Angela Duckworth, in her book Grit, said it best: âEnthusiasm is common. Endurance is rare.â
Itâs not about quick wins but showing up, day after day, even when it's hard. Keep going, keep growingâyour persistence will pay off.
Persistence as a mum pays off in countless waysâboth in the small, everyday moments and the big-picture journey of raising resilient, happy children.
Hereâs how:
Building stronger bonds
Even on the toughest days, consistently showing up with love, patience and understanding, strengthens your connection with your kids. They remember your presence more than perfection.
Teaching resilience by example
Kids learn by watching us. When they see us pushing through challengesâwhether in work, relationships, or personal growthâthey learn that setbacks arenât failures but stepping stones.
Navigating tough phases
From sleepless nights with a newborn to teenage struggles, persistence helps us stay calm and committed. These phases pass, but the effort we put in shapes their future.
Personal growth & fulfilment
Motherhood tests our patience, strength and endurance. By sticking with itâdespite the chaosâwe grow into stronger, more compassionate versions of ourselves.
Success as a mum isnât about getting it all rightâitâs about showing up, day after day, even when itâs hard. Thatâs where the magic happens. â¨đŞ
