🐾 Happy International Dog Day! 🐾
And what better day to launch our brand-new collaboration with Suffolk-based artist and printmaker, Lovely Lydia: It’s a Dog’s Life!
We first met Lydia over ten years ago at a show, where she discovered our Indian printing blocks and began experimenting with block printing. Inspired by the wildlife and landscapes surrounding her home on the Suffolk Coast, she has since developed her own wonderfully whimsical and bold printing style.
We had been dreaming of creating a collection of dog printing blocks for some time, and Lydia’s playful designs felt like the perfect fit. Together, we developed a joyful pack of dogs bursting with character, personality and movement, which Lydia then exhibited for the first time at Goodwoof Festival.
Some of the designs resemble particular breeds, while others have been left deliberately undefined, allowing you to spot your own familiar four-legged friend amongst the pack.
In Lydia’s words, the collection is a “Canine Carnival: a joyful exuberance of dogs at play”.
From discovering block printing through our blocks over ten years ago to seeing her own designs transformed into hand-carved Indian printing blocks, this truly feels like a very special full-circle collaboration.
