A little bit of Dolly wisdom for our Little Splodgers families today. 💛

The world lost someone very special yesterday, a woman who brought so much colour, joy and kindness to so many.

And this quote feels particularly fitting for us.

“If you see someone without a smile, give ’em yours!”

Because amongst all the paint, mess and creativity, Little Splodgers has always been about the smiles too. The friendships, the confidence, the encouragement and making every little person who walks through our doors feel welcome. 🌈

Dolly also had an incredible love for children and learning, giving millions of children around the world the gift of books through her Imagination Library. 📚

What a lovely legacy to leave behind.

More colour. More kindness. More smiles. 💛

At Little Splodgers, you’ll never hear us say…

❌ “Stay inside the lines.”
❌ “Don’t get messy.”
❌ “Yours should look like everyone else’s.”

Because that’s not what creativity is about. 💛

We love the paint-covered hands, the wonky googly eyes, the extra glitter and the wonderfully unique creations that little imaginations come up with.

Every child is given the same materials, but no two crafts ever look the same, and that’s exactly how it should be.

Our sessions are about so much more than making something to take home. They’re about building confidence, encouraging independence, making choices and giving little ones the freedom to create in their own way.

There’s a reason Little Splodgers is booked by term rather than as one off sessions. 💛

For little ones, confidence grows through familiarity.

Seeing the same friendly faces, returning to a familiar routine and building on new experiences each week helps children feel comfortable enough to explore, create and join in at their own pace.

Some children walk through the door full of confidence from week one.

Others need a little more time.

And that’s absolutely ok.

One of the loveliest things about a 12 week term is watching those little changes happen, week by week, smile by smile, craft by craft.

It’s why we love what we do. 🌈
