Last weekend we hosted the amazing guitarist in Bexhill llfestivalofmusic who gave a gorgeous recital full of musical joy and wonderful colours. A programme centred on Spanish music and presented with intelligence and sensitivity. This weekend our members meetings take place in both locations and then next weekend we host another incredible artist on concert.

This week we host our first concert of the festival, with loads of music on offer we are proud to be included in this amazing local celebration of music Bexhill Festival of Music

The Bexhill Festival of Music starts this week, with Common Little Pop Choir, Bright Lights Theatre Company and St Peter's Church coffee concert.
Our website is now fully updated, this year there is a great addition of a month to view calendar, so please have a look and note down all the great events planned for this year's festival.
We hope you can support as many events as you can. Many are free to attend and many raise money for vital local and national charities.

This summer ☀️ we are putting on loads of recitals as part of the and we are so proud to be able to bring some many wonderful performers to Bexhill-On-Sea 🌊. This years sees players from the UK and abroad bring amazing performances alongside a concert from our founder . All events are free to attend with donations requested to help support society events now and in the future. We hope to see our members there as well as local residents of the town in a summer of wonderful music making on the seaside 🏖️…. We hope to see you soon 😊❤️

The AKCGS met in both locations last weekend with ensemble rehearsals and solo members performances making both afternoons equally enjoyable, warm and moving. It was great to see all of our members participate, perform and share their hard work and music making across the weekend. See you all in June for more meetings and events in Hertfordshire and Bexhill!

The Bexhill Classical Guitar Society had a great meeting this summer. Our members performed so well with a special ensemble performance led by Steve Gordon. We had a wonderful time demonstrating the guitars brought by who brought two grand concert guitars, both spruce tops but one with a cedar bracing rather than spruce. We then played guess the guitar which was lots of fun! Steve also told us about his guitar making course and one of his students told us all about the guitar they are building. The meeting was rounded off by a wonderful performance by Simon Pearce. Thanks all for a great meeting and see you at the next one!

We had a fantastic meeting at the Hertfordshire group this term featuring brilliant performances from the members, an excellent talk and demonstration from .toon.handmadeguitars and a really wonderful professional recital by Simon Pearce who played Eduardo Sanz De La Maza’s platero suite and read out extracts from the story to guide the listeners through the music. A very special afternoon we will remember for a very long time.

We are so excited to present this terms sponsor of our Hertfordshire meeting is the maker of fine guitars, luthier Steve Toon .toon.handmadeguitars. Steve will be bringing a selection of their guitars for demonstration at the meeting next Saturday, 14:00 at St Mary’s Church Rickmansworth. This is great chance to hear his instruments up close and in a focused space and also try them yourself 🎶. If you have been dying to try one then come on down to Rickmansworth 😊
