In addition to my last post I tried something new for Christmas 2025 - Window painting!

Surprisingly tricky and for me having to do it in little bits around an already busy schedule was a challenge, for a first trial though I was pretty pleased. Dealing with glare and reflection whilst trying to draw/paint on such a large surface was a new for me and one that definitely requires future practice, however after many ongoing requests from my children we had complete window scenes for December and I will certainly be revisiting. This year we saw woodland trees, Baubles and my children’s favourites; Button Moon, Totoro and Grogu along with Santa’s sleigh.

A handmade Christmas 2025.

As we all have made our way back into daily routines, I wanted to take a pause and look back at Christmas that went by in blur! Between sickness, hosting and never ending to-do’s, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.

Something that always brings me joy is my children creating with love and meaning at Christmas. Their handmade gifts, cards and decorations embody the spirit of Christmas for us as a family and it’s something we strive to nurture.

This year was no different; I created the wreath from materials we foraged as a family around our local area and garden, I bottled my own brewed Gins for gifting, the children gifted their jam they made from summers foraged fruits, as a family we made gingerbread for our family to enjoy on Christmas Day along with table decorations the children created from up-cycled materials.

We are a crafty family, it’s what we love and even the smallest act of creation holds value in our home. What we love most is combining that value - at Christmas especially, by being to show our children that love and appreciation can be expressed to others through acts of thought and kindness.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to what the New year has in store!

After a very anxious few months I finally have my university results…I GOT A FIRST!!

I simply cannot believe it and after so so many ups and downs I didn’t even think it possible, but I did it - and I got a First.

I spent the weekend soaking it in with my husband and kids who are super proud of me and although not the end of my studying journey, I certainly have the motivation to continue and it feel worth it. Studying as an adult, switching careers to your passion and motivating yourself through very difficult times to not give up is not for the faint hearted, so for once - I’m pretty proud of myself too.

There's something almost spiritual about landscapes and nature that resonates with me. Through my personal hobby of photography - which though I may not know all the technical details, I love waiting for the perfect natural light to capture the essence of a moment. Whether it's the morning mist or frost-covered scenery, photography is an extension of my connection felt in nature.

Charcoal figure study.

This was no.7 in a series of figure studies I created using charcoal. I created a high-contrast tonal study with reference to better realism and depiction of the underlying skeletal and muscular systems.

Behind the scenes I was continuously working on the many different theoretical and scientific studies of the bodies anatomy throughout art history.

Speed Portrait.

Exploring self-portraiture through gesture drawing, focusing on form and placement with heightened spatial awareness. As with my last piece, I didn't lift my charcoal, fully immersing myself in the process to capture the essence of what I could see within a short time-frame.
