Applications are coming in thick and fast! But there is still time if you're an artist/maker/creative, and have got a studio in Berwick, Spittal or Tweedmouth; or found a venue to host you.

You have two days left to apply to Berwick Open Studios 2026!

You can also apply if you're a creative shop, gallery, cultural hub, or educational arts group.

Application form closes at 11.59pm on Fri 12 June.

Creatives! There is only one week left to apply for the first ever Berwick Open Studios!

Tips::
⏰Leave yourself plenty of time to read the guidelines and fill in the form correctly

✏If you have a technical issue with the application form please contact Curatorspace (who host the form) themselves - they will help (generally within normal working hours)

❓If you have a question that isn’t covered in the FAQ’s or the Guide then message us, but please be patient, this next week will be really busy.

🧩“I/We want to apply but we still don’t have a venue! Help!”
Ok, if you’re keen to take part but either live outside Berwick (within 10 miles), or live in Berwick but cannot open your own studio/home, then we have some ideas for you:
🏠Consider applying for one of the Quayside Artisan Huts. You can apply for them via the BOS application form.

🎨The Maltings have just announced an opportunity called Berwick Barracks Artist Studio Bursary - where they are offering a bursary in partnership with Berwick Open Studios for an artist who may not be able to participate in the event (due to not having a studio or exhibition display space) the opportunity to do so. We realise the timings of the applications are out of sync, and we have a few suggestions to help you out - get in touch if you’re considering this and worried about timings.

We've had some brilliant applications so far, but there is still time to apply! 3 weeks left!

Applications are open to artists, makers, galleries, craftspeople, groups, schools, creative businesses, and cultural hubs from Berwick-upon-Tweed, Tweedmouth & Spittal to be part of this exciting celebration of creativity.

We'd love to see the variety of creativity Berwick has to offer, so we want to hear from artists & makers working across all mediums!

The Berwick Open Studios 2026 will run over two weekends; 26-27 September and 3-4 October 2026.

Artists’ studios, galleries and pop-up spaces will open their doors, offering visitors a rare chance to catch a glimpse into the working world of artists and designer-makers.

Makers! Artists! Interested in BOS, but don’t have a studio to open? Apply for a Quayside Artisan Hut instead!

These wonderful additions to the quayside are run by Berwick-upon-Tweed Town Council, who have kindly given us use of them during both Open Studios weekends. 26-27 Sept & 3-4 Oct 2026.

Perfect for those artists & makers who live outside the geographical criteria (within 10 miles), or those who don’t have a suitable studio to open up. Further info on the huts can be found in the Application Guide.

If you would like to secure a hut as an alternative venue during the Open Studios please apply to Berwick Open Studios, and use the relevant section of the form.
You will not need to pay for the hire of the hut in addition to your application fee.

Application Deadline: Fri 12th June.

PS> If you’re interested in huts at other times, please get in touch with Berwick-upon-Tweed Town Council - The Quayside Artisan Huts are for local makers and creators to have a low-cost outlet for whatever it is they make or create. They are available on a regular or ad hoc basis and are for hire on Wednesday and Saturdays in line with Berwick's market days.
