🌿 Oops, I did it again… 😅

Following on from yesterday’s post, I’m using those vintage stamped labels and numbers to create some pretty botanical specimen cards!
I absolutely love making these. As you can see in the video, I got a little carried away and slightly overcommitted on the quantity! (No regrets though—I’ll just save the extras for future journals).
For this batch, I opted for pressed leaves, but you can use almost anything—butterflies, bugs, flowers, you name it!
I hope you enjoy watching the process, and hopefully it inspires you to create your own🥰

Today was the day the creative urge finally overtook the thought!

I decided it was time to dust off all my stamps, stencils, and inks that have been stored away for far too long (we all have that stash, right? 🫣). I set out to create some botanical specimen cards. To build up the layers, I first needed to make some custom labels, vintage tags, and grungy numbers from scratch. There is nothing more satisfying than distressing clean paper! 🌿

Watch out for Part 2 to see exactly how I use these pieces in my specimen cards and handmade ephemera.

What’s everyone crafting today?

Happy Monday☀️ Sharing an idea that popped up in my TikTok memories today, and yet another reminder for me to dust off my stamps and stencils🎨 A simple inked design can completely transform the look of your journal card.
Want to add hidden pockets to your journal? Here are two ways you can do it👇
🧵 Before binding: Add them in before sewing in your signatures. Glueing two pages together at the top and bottom creates two side pockets on either side.
💡 After binding: If you're like me and ideas only hit you later, just glue an extra page on top of your signature page! Glue 3 sides down to create a vertical or side pocket.

For this page I glued an extra line right across the middle to split it into two separate pockets for these journal cards. 🎟️🎟️

I woke up this morning with a random idea for a birds nest pop-up element and had to bring it to life immediately!
Here it is nestled into the inside cover I’ve been working on. Ignore the messy desk and the unfinished edges—I was just too excited not to give you a sneak peek 👀

I’m finally ready to show you what I’ve been working on! 🖤You asked for a gothic witchy theme, and it was such a fun challenge to step away from my usual bright woodland palettes. I spent days experimenting with dark inks to find the perfect aged, smoky look I was after. Every piece is layered with snippets of textured black fishnet, cobweb laces, and frayed eyelash yarn. 🕸️🧶Now that the ephemera is ready, I’ll be gathering the matching fabrics and charms over the weekend to finish curating these packs. What do you think of this darker direction? Let me know your favorite piece in the comments! 👇✨

My goodness, I do love making tiny things! 🔎✨

There is one really wonderful thing about having ADHD, and that is the incredible hyper-focus it gives me to put my head down and get things done. Mass-making over 160+ mini decorated tags, mini envelopes, and page dangles to completely restock my Journal Fabric & Embellishment Packs!

I have also been creating my new witchy gothic collection, which will be launched very soon 🥰
