Our latest edition of Last Man Standing starts this Friday evening with Ipswich Vs Liverpool. Get your entries in. Details are below:

The rules for the competition are the following:

1. Select one team from the midweek Premier League fixtures (only if it's full fixture list) or weekends fixtures
2.If your team selection wins you go through and if they draw or lose, you are out
3. ยฃ5 buy back option (first week only)
4. You can only choose a team once
5. Team selection must be in no later than 6pm on Tuesday for full midweek fixtures and 7pm on Friday before the weekend fixtures. If you do not submit an entry you may be allocated the next team in alphabetical order
6. In the event of complete elimination in a round, those that were in the round will be re-entered and go until a last man standing remains as normal.

๐Ÿ”ฅANOTHER DOUBLE HEADER WEEKEND FOR THE MOURNE! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Thatโ€™s two double-header weekends in a row for Mourne Young Defenders, and another brilliant weekend for the band! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฅ๐ŸŽถ

First up was Newcastle on Friday night, where the band came away with 1st place Melody Drums and 1st Colour Party. ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿณ๏ธ

Then it was straight on to Antrim on Saturday night for Ballycraigy Sons of Ulsterโ€™s 55th Anniversary Parade, where we were delighted to be asked to lead the parade around.

For the majority of our band, it was a completely new place to parade, and what a night it turned out to be! The crowds were absolutely fantastic, with brilliant support lining the route from start to finish. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

It was also great to see such a fantastic turnout of bands, with many bands travelling from areas we would rarely get to see down our end of the country. It made for a brilliant atmosphere and a great night for everyone involved.

A massive thank you to Ballycraigy Sons of Ulster for the invitation and for making us feel so welcome. Congratulations on 55 years and hereโ€™s to many more! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘

Weโ€™ll definitely be back up next year after a great night!

Based in Ypres, we visited countless historic battlefields, cemeteries and memorials across Flanders and the Somme, including ๐“๐ฒ๐ง๐ž ๐‚๐จ๐ญ, ๐“๐ก๐ข๐ž๐ฉ๐ฏ๐š๐ฅ, ๐๐ž๐š๐ฎ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ญ-๐‡๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ฅ, ๐•๐ข๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐‘๐ข๐๐ ๐ž, ๐„๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฑ ๐…๐š๐ซ๐ฆ, ๐Œ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ฌ, ๐ˆ๐ฌ๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ˆ๐ซ๐ž๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐ž๐š๐œ๐ž ๐๐š๐ซ๐ค ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐”๐ฅ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐“๐จ๐ฐ๐ž๐ซ, while also paying our respects at the graves and memorials of several individuals connected to our own families and heritage.โฃโฃโฃ

From the Somme to Flanders, the trip was filled with history, remembrance and moments that will stay with us for a long time. It was an absolute privilege to take a young band away on this trip and educate our young people on our history. โฃโฃโฃ

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the 36 bands who attended on Friday night and supported us at our 50th Anniversary Parade & Competition.โฃ

The standard of bands on show was absolutely superb, and it was fantastic to see so many excellent performances throughout the evening. With the standard being so high, the judging came down to very fine margins. โฃ

On a sour note, we are extremely disappointed in the conduct of a handful of bands at the start/finish point, especially with one band who surrounded two of our Marshalls and verbally abused them. Something which is not acceptable no matter your grievance. Marshalls have a hard enough job especially at the start point as every one knows and with Derry Day the next day everyone was trying to get away early which added to the situation. So in future If you cant behave and adhere to the instructions of the Marshalls and then in turn abuse them then donโ€™t come to our parade. Thanks
