Theatre NI Supporting and developing theatre and the performing arts in Northern Ireland. Established following a merger between UAYD & NITA in April 2015.

The Ulster Association of Youth Drama (UAYD) and the Northern Ireland Theatre Association (NITA) are delighted to announce the completion of their merger to form a new organisation called TheatreNI. This signifies a new era for the theatre and performing arts sector, where the strengths of both UAYD and NITA will come together to provide further benefits for the respective members of each organisa

tion and the wider sector. TheatreNI will aim to be a voice for theatre and the performing arts that is heard and valued, and it will advocate on behalf of the sector to ensure that theatre is accepted as a key contributor to creating and sustaining a vibrant, healthy society. Theatre for All

TheatreNI will encourage participation in theatre and the performing arts by promoting access to theatre from the very start through education and opportunities for young people, offering training opportunities to those considering a career in theatre, ongoing professional development for those working in the sector, or simply enjoying theatre as an audience member.

TheatreNI is a subscription-based organisation, building on the membership of UAYD and NITA transferring to TheatreNI. Existing and new members will be a key focus in the new organisation as it strives to deliver more services and benefits to meet member and sector needs.
