What a run! What an absolute pleasure it's been to stage Shadowlands at the wonderful St Mark's! Fantastic audiences on all three nights and we loved every moment! ❤️

One of the reasons we do what we do, is because community is so important to us. Scamp theatre loves bringing people together in special venues, with meaningful theatre. It's always a bonus when someone takes the time to share their thoughts on our play and our wonderful host, St Mark's.

Great evening last night at 'Shadowlands' with Gavin Robinson and Cllr Ruth Brooks. The play tells the story of CS Lewis and Joy Davidman, and is very appropriately on stage in the Heyn Hall at St Mark's, Dundela, which many will know is CS Lewis' family church. I have to confess plays are not my usual night out, but I thoughily enjoyed the show, congratulations to the cast and all involved in a wonderful production - very much recommend.

The play is being put on by Scamp Theatre as part of the EastSide Arts Festival 2026 - and at time of writing this post theres still a few tickets for the Saturday show if you want to catch it too 👇🏻

Our first review! ❤️

A wonderful evening in the Heyn Memorial Hall at St Mark’s, Dundela, for Scamp Theatre's production of Shadowlands as part of the EastSide Arts festival.

Shadowlands tells the story of the friendship and eventual romance between C. S. Lewis and Joy Davidman. A story of late-blooming love, devastating loss and, ultimately, the redemptive power of love.

Of course, St Mark’s has a particularly strong connection to C. S. Lewis. He was baptised and confirmed there, his grandfather was the church’s first rector, and the church contains a stained-glass window dedicated to his parents.

A powerful and moving performance in a truly fitting setting. Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing it to life.

Tickets for tonight have now sold out, but there is still limited availability for tomorrow night and you can even pick up some C. S. Lewis merchandise afterwards! Well worth going along.
