This piece certainly suites its title, kingfishers are definitely jewels of the river, always a magical sight.

It was a tight deadline but I have managed to complete this piece “River Jewel” in time for Association of Animal Artists 2026 charity auction! There will be hundreds of pieces available from different artists, and each sale will be donated to their chosen charity this year - Wildwood Trust

Was hoping I could get this little one finished today, but it’s looking like it will have to be tomorrow! Just the branch left to do but fresh eyes 👀 are needed

Slightly different set up today! One that I’ve been wanting to do for a while but the nerves kept taking over 🫣.
Today though, I put my big girl 🩲 on and went to Whipsnade zoo on my own to get some drawing done!

Every time we visit Whipsnade I say “I’d love to sit and draw up here” and “I always feel so motivated to draw when I’m here”. Motivation has definitely been lacking recently while being busy with other things, so while I’m on a tight deadline to get Association of Animal Artists charity piece finished and posted in the next couple of days (to be donated and auctioned, raising money for Wildwood Trust), a trip to the zoo to get my motivation back was just what I needed!

So if you saw a crazy lady sat by the African hunting dogs, drawing a kingfisher, that was me 🙋🏻‍♀️😂
