Their work advocates for research and legislation to broaden treatment for a wide variety of mental and other health issues, from treatment-resistant depression and PTSD to epilepsy in children.

Details of ‘Snakes I’ with dark metallic pigment, 100x100cm, edition of 20.

The snake is a potent mythological symbol, first and foremost representing the healer and the ancient world creator.

Every potent symbol also embodies its opposite.
The snake appears particularly ambivalent, a creator and destroyer, protector and deceiver.

‘Snakes I’ embodies these layers of complexity in a dark entanglement of textured bodies, soothing and unsettling, figurative but verging on abstraction.

For one of my next projects I chose a real underdog animal - this status certainly applies to city pigeons. These gentle and massively underappreciated creatures really deserve our love and attention 🤍

When I start a new project, the first aim is to really understand my chosen subject - who are these beautiful creatures, what characteristics do they have, what makes them special, how do they differentiate as individuals?

Next time you see a pigeon, take a minute to appreciate its beauty, and maybe catch a glimpse of this particular individual’s personality 💜
