Play is often seen as something children do for fun, but it is so much more than that.

Through play, children learn to communicate, solve problems, build confidence, develop friendships, process emotions and make sense of the world around them. Every time a child steps into an imaginary role, they are developing skills that will support them for life.

At Pop Up Play Village, we see the magic of play every single day. We see children become shopkeepers, vets, builders, chefs, doctors and explorers. We watch their confidence grow, their imaginations flourish and their creativity shine.

In a world that can sometimes feel rushed and structured, today is a reminder that play is not a luxury. It is a necessity.

So today, let's celebrate play in all its forms and give children the time, space and freedom to learn through the most natural way they know how because when children play, incredible things happen.

All change up at the play centre this afternoon as we swapped out the Farm which has firmly become a much loved area in its debut visit and reintroduced the vets play area! Dobin had a stable build for him during another school visit this week and today we think it must have been a field being built!
It’s a busy day in the village tomorrow with lots of villagers booked to attend for Great Binfields School transition session at 12:30 but there is space to play at 9am and in the 10:30am session if you are looking to escape the rain! Come and join Ghislaine and Frank in the village! Meanwhile I’m heading off to Rainbow Nursery tomorrow morning for a session with them. I’ll post some highlights from our visit tomorrow.

Through role play, children learn how to cope, adapt and try again. When they take on different roles, face small challenges and work things out, they’re building resilience without even realising it.

Role play gives children a safe space to practise problem solving, manage big feelings and grow in confidence. These are skills they’ll carry far beyond play time.

A massive thank you to everyone who came to play today and especially to those who came at 10:30! It was a little crazy at the time due to a staff emergency meaning I was two hours away driving down the M40 in the pouring rain when our team member had to leave and Frank was all alone juggling everything… it sounds like he did an awesome job and it was so hard knowing he was struggling and there was literally nothing I could do other than watch the road and get there when I could!
So from me to you… thank you! Thank you for supporting our small business today and thank you for being patient with us while it wasn’t quite the well oiled machine we are used too!
We are always grateful for your support and today was no exception!

So the other day we gave a shout out to small business that are for children and today it’s the turn of all those other wonderful small businesses that make life easier for us adults!
We love supporting other local businesses so here are a few we have used:

That Gallery - also on display in the cafe

A massive thank you for supporting our School Transition sessions last week it was a pleasure to welcome children starting at Overton Primary, Four Lanes Infants, Bramley Primary and Merton Infants!
This week we have Oakley Infants and Great Binfields Primary coming into the village as well as the second in our starting school series which is all about taking turns and sharing so there will be game playing and turn taking in the role play too with Ghislaine. Make sure you are booked to join us and see you there!
