Wild Water Sands

Wild Water Sands Wild Water Sands created water inspired prints, journals and thoughtful pieces shaped by summer sea swims, pool lengths and the stillness that follows.

This is a water led brand centred on ritual, presence and the quiet clarity found in immersion.

Holiday mode is officially beginning!

I’m heading away for my holiday and looking forward to a proper change of scenery, some slower mornings and, hopefully, plenty of time near the water.

Wild Water Sands will be a little quieter while I’m away, although I have scheduled posts and I’m sure a few beach photographs will find their way onto here!

Everything at home is in safe hands too as my son is home keeping an eye on things and, more importantly, looking after Razzle 🐈‍⬛!

I’m looking forward to seeing what catches my eye while I’m away. The colours, reflections and small details around the coast often end up finding their way into my work later without me even realising it at the time.

Have a wonderful day

Good morning,

A slightly less glamorous part of running a creative business today…

I’m working my way through the Wild Water Sands and Ribbonaire Sands Etsy shops and updating some of my product photographs.

As the collection has grown, I’ve realised the imagery needs to grow with it.

I want you to be able to see not only the artwork itself, but how it might actually look in a home—the scale, the colours and how different pieces can work together.

So today there are prints, frames, linen and props everywhere while I experiment.

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning

September is here and who doesn’t love these coming months!

As you know I love the warmer months for swimming especially for the sea and lakes that are warmer, but this year has been mostly pool swims and you will still sea 😜me in the pool through winter too!

Here’s to cosy nights in, pumpkin latte’s and Christmas!

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning and & Happy Monday!

I hope you had a lovely weekend?

Some of my artwork works beautifully on its own, and some pieces just seem to belong together.

That’s how I feel about the three Between the Tides pieces.

Although each can be chosen individually, I designed them with the same colours and atmosphere running through them, so they can also sit together as a small coastal collection.

I’ve now added the option to bundle the three and save, which I think would work particularly well for a bedroom, hallway or a quiet corner of a home.

What do you think?

National Beach Day 🌊

For me, the beach isn’t only about summer days and sunshine.

It’s the sound of the water when everything else feels quiet. Walking along the shoreline. Standing at the edge deciding whether you’re actually going to get in. And that completely different feeling when you come back out again.

Those small moments around water are a big part of the inspiration behind Wild Water Sands — not just swimming, but the sense of calm and space that comes from being near it.

For National Beach Day, I’d love to know: what’s your favourite thing about being by the sea?

Have a wonderful day!

Happy weekend!

I’ve been looking at my Wild Water Sands shop with fresh eyes this week as you know and one thing I’ve decided is that I want the artwork to have much more space to shine.

Some pieces began with swimming, others with a particular stretch of coastline, the light on the water or simply a moment I wanted to remember.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be updating some of the photographs in my Etsy shop and sharing more of the individual pieces here too.

I’m looking forward to seeing the collection come together properly.

Have a lovely Saturday!

I’ve been making a few changes to Wild Water Sands recently as you know.

Not a complete change of direction, but perhaps a better understanding of what I want it to portray.

It started with swimming and my own love of being in the water, but I’ve realised that what inspires me isn’t only the swimming itself.

It’s the coast.

The changing colour of the water, little harbours and coastal villages, early mornings, beach walks and that feeling you get when you stop for a moment and look out to sea.

That’s what you’ll start seeing more of here, coastal artwork, stationery and thoughtful pieces inspired by life beside the water.

It feels much more like Wild Water Sands.

Have a wonderful day!

Thursdays are usually admin and design days here.

Editing colours. Adjusting layouts. Rethinking titles. Making sure what I create actually reflects how swimming feels and not just how it looks.

Today I’m working on a new listing shaped by sea swimming, The Coves of Cornwall and Devon Coastal Coves — sea swimming instead of freshwater, which is covered by The Lakes and The Lochs.

Do you have a favourite spot you would like me to include?

If you have a few minutes I’d love thename, roughly where the access point is (car park, path, steps), and anything distinctive about it (sheltered vs exposed, sandy vs rocky, tidal considerations, anything it’s known for). That’s the shape I’ll need to write the Access/Character/Worth Knowing blocks that I include in my journal!

Thank you!

Good morning,

This new artwork isn’t about dramatic waves.
It’s about immersion — even if that’s a tiled pool in Essex.

If you had to choose one word for how water makes you feel, what would it be?

Have a wonderful day.

There’s something about a lake at first light. Still water, no rush, just you and the quiet.

The Lakes journal is here , a place to log every swim, every water temperature, every moment you stood at the edge and went in anyway. First in a collect-the-set regional series, made for the swimmers who keep coming back to the water.
