A sea of purple 💜🧶

A display of knitted poppies is on show at the REME Museum in Lyneham, to honour the animals who made sacrifices during conflicts 🐾💜

The "Purple Richmond Poppies" are on display until September, as part of a tour that has already visited military museums across the UK.

SOUTHEND PIER TO BE TRANSFORMED INTO GIANT 1.33-MILE POPPY DISPLAY FOR REMEMBRANCE

It’s time to get knitting and crocheting! For Remembrance later in 2025, an ambitious plan has been announced to cover the length of Southend Pier in poppies, and people are being asked to knit and crochet loads of them. The display will be in place from 5th November until 16th November.

Patterns and drop-off instructions can be found at southendpier.co.uk/poppies - they are accepting completed poppies by post as well, so you can take part from anywhere in the world!

To commemorate this year’s Remembrance Day, knitters from Peabody’s King Edward Community Centre’s knit & natter group lovingly crafted over a thousand poppies for the Noak Bridge Community Remembrance Walk. The knitted poppy designs feature on bus shelters and on 20 trees across the Essex village.

The group also skilfully crafted a remembrance display that they took to a local care home for their residents with dementia to enjoy and share their personal memories.
