🌿 Willow Weaving Workshop - Willow Hearts 💚 4 SPACES LEFT

Join me for a relaxed and creative evening learning the beautiful craft of willow weaving. You will make your own willow heart out of buff willow, before decorating it with hessian flowers and bows.

All materials, tools and plenty of guidance - no experience necessary.

I've been meaning to write a post about this and share the photo of the mosaic we made with HOPE in Community Support Hub ...but instead I'll share this.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this summer. We had a great time.

A huge thank you from HOPE in Community! 🥳

As our Healthy Holidays and GCA programme comes to an end, we want to take a moment to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our sessions so special.

To all the children and young people who joined us ,thank you! It has been fantastic to see you getting involved, trying new things, making friends and having fun!

A huge thank you to all the parents, carers and families for your support and for trusting us to provide these opportunities.

We would also like to thank all the services, organisations, volunteers, activity providers and community partners who supported our Healthy Holidays/GCA sessions. Your time, skills, resources and commitment have helped us create positive experiences for our young people.

We couldn't have done it without you!

Also, a big thank you for THEARTROOM for creating this magnificent piece for us! 😎

Here are a few photos from the Family Day in Barnsley on Saturday.

We spent some time making community art with the children, who all got involved and added their own ideas to the artwork. It was lovely to see everyone contributing and creating something together.

Thanks to everyone who took part, especially the Great Childhood Ambition Team who helped make the day happen.

What an amazing festival! RISE Festival was fab! 🌿

It was lovely to see so many people taking photos in front of the willow lettering I’d woven. And, to be honest, the positioning of the letters in front of the Priory and the tree was a complete fluke… but wow, what a backdrop! 😍

Lots of people also joined in making willow crowns and hearts to take home, which was great to see.

And then there was the community art piece… we made the biggest piece of community art we’ve ever done! So many people added something to it and it was brilliant watching it grow throughout the day.

I’ll upload a photo of the finished masterpiece later… 🎨

All set up for the festival today in Barnsley! 🎨✨

You’ll find us opposite the library — come along, say hi and get involved in some fun art activities.

We’ll be creating some large canvases celebrating all the amazing activities that have taken place across Barnsley this summer. We’ll also have some weaving activities for you to have a go at.

All set up for RISE Festival with Jolly Good Communities and there are so many different stalls here and some amazing young artists getting set up.

Come and join us, it's going to be a great afternoon/evening.

Loads of music, bands, dance acts, craft stalls and tons of other things to do.
