Another lovely workshop this week. The year 6 children at Helme C of E Academy took part in a wet felting workshop and made this amazing felt artwork.

In history they were learning about Ancient Egypt so we made the Eye of Horus, which is a special Egyptian symbol linked to the God's.

I couldn't resist sharing this fantastic display from a school I recently visited.

The school holds an annual festival dedicated to art, drama, and music, and this eye-catching Pop Art-inspired artwork really stood out. The colour, creativity, and scale make such an impact!

I love seeing artwork like this around a school.

If you love the idea of more creative play outdoors, please sign. I've visited many OPAL schools and what they do is truly amazing.

I've just signed, please share as far and wide as possible.

Play is essential for all childrenโ€™s health, development and wellbeing. Despite this, very few primary schools have a plan for playtime.

This International Day of Play, weโ€™re calling on the Government to make planning for play a statutory requirement for every primary school.

For their WOW day, Year 4 children at Oughtibridge Primary School took part in two amazing art activities, mosaic creations and recycled paper making.

They designed their own pattern for the border and using lots of different tiles, they made their own design in the middle. I love how different and unique each one is.

I'll be uploading the paper making photos very soon.

Well done everyone.

1. The Reality of Teaching Teaching is a demanding job. With up to 30 children in a classroom and constant pressures, there are moments when you just need a minute. I spent 10 years teaching, so I understand how easy it is to turn on the IWB and settle the class with a quick film or cartoon. It work...

What a wonderful day at Charlbury Primary School! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ˜Š

I spent the day with the fantastic Year 3, 4 and 5 children creating some amazing willow sculptures, and I couldn't be more proud of what they achieved.

Working together, we made three giant flowers, a butterfly, a dragonfly, a bird and a rabbit, all woven from natural willow. The children were full of creativity, enthusiasm and brilliant ideas, and it was lovely to watch their confidence grow as the sculptures took shape.

The finished pieces are now on display at the front of the school, creating a beautiful welcome for everyone who visits. ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ‡

A huge thank you to the staff and children for such a warm welcome and for throwing themselves into the project with so much energy and imagination. I hope everyone enjoys seeing the sculptures as much as we enjoyed making them!

If you spot them, we'd love to hear which sculpture is your favourite! ๐Ÿ‘‡

A few pictures from this afternoon's recycled paper making workshop at the Lightbox Library in Barnsley.

We used paper making frames and lots of different decorating materials to make our own unique recycled paper.

It was a little bit messy but really fun. ๐ŸŽจ ๐Ÿ“ฐ

Stunning wet felting artwork created today by Year 6 children at Heyhouses Primary in Lytham St Annes. Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, the children layered wool and used soap and water to bind the fibres. ๐ŸŽจ

And as the sun was shining, I finished the day with a run on the seafront. ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ
