This corner is feeling full. I've spent days sorting and arranging so I can finally sit and work in peace. I know if I had a bigger studio I would still fill every inch.

I'm back in the studio after an extended break over Christmas. It's a little gloomy in here during winter but I'm taking it slow and enjoying a calm January. (Although I can't wait for spring and to start growing in the garden again). Three years in and I'm still working on a large drawing which is built up of many tiny shapes, I start and stop and now I'm ready to finish it. It's become known as my anxiety drawing. I'm also working on new indigo paintings made from the indigo I grew in my garden last year.

I'm excited to be joining Sheffield Print Fair on Saturday, if you are in the area, come along and say hello. I'll be bringing some watercolour acorn sets and releasing new prints.

I'm excited to share my new pocket-sized artist travel tins, each containing three large acorns filled with natural watercolour! A selection of colours will be available for pre-order on Friday 12th at 7pm. The tins in the picture are from my personal collection, including homegrown indigo and Yellow mine water ochre collected during my MA project at the National Coal Mining Museum.

* To reduce waste, I'll also have a few slightly imperfect tins available at a discounted price for those who don't mind a few scratches or tin dents.

I've been hiding from the heat today and having a much needed tidy. There's creative mess and then there's just mess. I can't work on my table and constantly tripping up over things so it had to be done. The garden is dust but my studio is in a shady patch so I'm appreciating the hostas and the cool shade this year. *I draw on my windows to stop birds flying into them.

I will be joining Barnsley Libraries in August to run a special workshop for children aged 8-11. We'll be learning how to make nature journals and I'll be bringing along handmade botanical ink & paint for the group to use. It will be a small relaxed group so places are limited, please book via the Barnsley Libraries link. There are other artists running wonderful workshops so take a look at other events available.

Hello, I'm still here. Masters complete! My final major project received a distinction which made me feel like it's all been worth it in the end. Two years concentrating on sustainability and working with natural sources of colour and I'm back in my studio making work just for myself. It's an odd feeling to spend so much time writing and researching then have freedom to work on anything and everything just because you want to.
