Barkingside Art Club

Barkingside Art Club Bringing the community together through visual art education and inclusion. An exciting new venture designed to bring us closer together as a community.

Barkingside Art Club aims to inspire and encourage local creatives, artists and art lovers to explore art and practice their art skills in a supportive, enjoyable environment. The club provides a space for local creatives and artists to meet regularly, network, collaborate with one another and share ideas. It will be a friendly and enriching environment which will host workshops and exhibiti

ons thereby promoting each individualโ€™s business. Local creatives will also be given the opportunity to volunteer in helping children with SEN learn through creative activities. Our artistic approach to teaching and learning is focussed on using art for a cause. Artists who volunteer to teach in this inclusive club can use the space to exhibit their work in exchange for their valued time and effort.

โœจ This week at our All Together Hub, we created magical lamps! โœจ

Children and young people transformed simple paper lanterns into their own colourful characters, creatures and imaginative designs โ€” each one completely unique. ๐ŸŽจ

It was wonderful to see children of all abilities creating side by side, sharing ideas, experimenting with materials and having fun together as part of Redbridge Holiday MegaMix.

At the same time, our Young Peopleโ€™s Studio offered older young creatives their own space to explore ideas and create together.

Join Us Tomorrow for the Launch of HOUSE OF NOOR โœจ

As part of South Asian Heritage Month, we are proud to launch House of Noor โ€“ a celebration of the creativity, identity and voices of neurodivergent, disabled and underrepresented South Asian girls, young women and emerging artists.

House of Noor was inspired by the journey of Shanzey, a young South Asian neurodivergent artist whose creativity has become her way of communicating, expressing herself and shining. It celebrates the belief that creativity can break barriers, build confidence and create opportunities for every young person.

A huge thank you to Redbridge Outdoor Arts for believing in our young people and providing an inclusive platform where they can exhibit their work, lead workshops and inspire others through our Creative Ambassadors Outdoor Art Hub.

What a huge honour it was to be part of

A heartfelt thank you to for supporting Spectrum Studio and our Creative Ambassadors as part of this incredible celebration of inclusion, creativity and community.

A special thank you to Vision Redbridge, Redbridge Libraries, , the organisers, workshop providers, volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes. We truly couldnโ€™t achieve what we do without your continued support, partnership and belief in our young people.

The Disability Festival in the Park is one of the few places where disabled and non-disabled people come together not because of their differences, but because of what they can create together. It is a powerful reminder of what an inclusive community can look like.

โ€œToday, nobody stood out because of their disability. We all stood together because of our creativity.โ€ ๐Ÿ’›

Our young people proudly led the Spectrum Studio space through their art exhibition, wearable art workshops and collaborative community mural. They welcomed families, encouraged conversations, inspired creativity and showed the community the power of inclusive arts. They werenโ€™t just taking partโ€”they were leading, creating and inspiring.

It was wonderful to see so many organisations, community groups and local partners working together with one shared vision: creating opportunities where everyone belongs and every voice matters.

Thank you to everyone who visited our space, made art with us and celebrated the talent, leadership and creativity of our young artists. Together, we are building a future where creativity breaks down barriers and inclusion becomes something we experience not just talk about.

๐Ÿ’› Together, we continue to Light Up for Inclusion through creativity.

โ˜€๏ธ Even the Heatwave Couldnโ€™t Stop Our Creativity! ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿฆ

Despite one of the hottest days of the year, our After School Art Club was full of smiles, creativity, air conditioning, and a few well-deserved ice lollies!

This week, our young artists paid tribute to the incredible Hockney, exploring his colourful style through drawing, painting and observation. From expressive floral paintings to imaginative interpretations of his work, every child created something unique.

David Hockneyโ€™s legacy continues to inspire artists of all ages, and weโ€™ll be continuing our tribute over the coming weeks. There is still so much to create, discover and learn together.

๐ŸŒˆ Join us this Saturday!

๐ŸŽจ Junior Art Club: 11:00am โ€“ 12:00pm
๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ Portfolio Class: 11:30am โ€“ 1:30pm
โœจ Young Studio (16โ€“25): 2:00pm โ€“ 4:00pm

If the hot weather continues, weโ€™ll keep the air conditioning on and, where possible, have ice lollies ready tooโ€”creating a cool, welcoming space where children and young people can escape the heat, get creative, and have fun.

We canโ€™t wait to see you! ๐Ÿ’™

It was lovely meeting Councillor Helen Mullis at Redbridge Outdoor Arts yesterday. Thank you for taking the time to visit, meet our young people and families, and support community arts. We are proud to be part of a programme that helps children and young people build confidence, creativity and a sense of belonging.

This week at our Wednesday Art Club, we explored still life through observation using toys they love to really see, not just draw ๐ŸŽจโœจ They worked thoughtfully in layers, explored colour, and began to understand composition in their own way.

What stood out most was their effort โ€” the focus, the curiosity, and the confidence to either follow what they see or transform it through imagination. Both are equally powerful.

So proud of how theyโ€™re learning to look deeper and express more with every session ๐Ÿ’ซ
