But getting two commissions in really helped to get me motivated and cheered up and I remembered that I love making these!! Also I can relate to this a lot right now.

Finally I can post this present I made for one of my oldest friends she loves a cheese plant but doesn’t have room for anymore and has always wanted a variegated one-so I made a tiny one!!
And I have named it Winnie after the beautiful model

I’ve never made a miniature anything so I’m pretty darn proud of how well this turned out. I first tried to use a digital print out kit from Etsy but it just didn’t look how I wanted it to. So I set about making the leaves from paper, gluing the wire inbetween the paper and using 4 different colours to paint them and a gloss varnish on top to give a lovely shine to them. Then popped them all in a little pot which I bought from Etsy and painted bronze.
And finally I popped it in a little gods dome-it came with a brown bottom I didn’t like so sprayed it gold and gilded the centre.

I can’t believe how well it turned out. I might even make another one now I’ve perfected how I do it.

Available to buy on my Etsy shop for £15 free p&p uk £6 for everywhere else. They are digitally printed on 100% premium cotton 169gsm using Eco friendly high quality water based inks. Full wash colour fastness.
They are super absorbent making them ideal for everyday use as well as a great souvenir.

Size 47cm x 81cm

Finally got round to adding some glitter to these little pieces. And I love them. I can’t wait to see them in natural light tomorrow.

I’m so glad to be back at work - it just makes everything better to have that structure and purpose.

And I’m guessing that my new anti depressants are properly kicking in so I’m sure that’s helping too. Oh and the tramadol and codeine I had to take today to manage work.

Working on these three pieces at the moment and I really love them.
I keep coming back to blue as a base and anytime I try to do anything different I just don’t like it as much. But something inside me makes me feel like I can’t keep making pieces with the same colour scheme, so I try other colours.

But today I’ve thought…..why can’t I!? There isn’t a rule or anything. Maybe this colour scheme is my niche, my signature. Each piece is still very different to the next even when using the same base colour. So I might be re painting a few sometime soon.

Finally got around to drawing cups of tea!! I drew my cup from earlier which is slide two and a cup screenshot from .thing.of.beau.tea account. I’m trying to just draw and not worry too much about the outcome and try new ways of drawing.
I chatted to little E today about stress, anxiety and meditation because she’s feeling quite stressed with lots of tests at school at the moment. And for me having a cup of tea is a bit like a moment of relaxation and also drawing one is too!

This is the second piece I’ve been working on, which I thought maybe I’d added too much stuff to and too much pink. Turns out, again with fresh eyes and natural light, I LOVE IT!!
I think it’s got the right balance of colours and texture and has a planet/moon vibe because of the shape. Or maybe a portal to another world, where there’s music booming, it’s dark but with a cool light show and everyone is happy in the moment watching their surroundings. Sounds a bit like Whirl-Y-Gig a club I used to love going to with friends.

Thought I’d ruined this last night but luckily looking at this this morning with natural light and fresh eyes-I love it again!!
With these textural abstracts I want to capture the feeling of an urban environment at night, dark with neon lights, nightclubs sound booming from their door, the excitement of going out.
