In the 40 plus years I've been sculpting ...it's always a worrying moment when opening the kiln. Technically you know what to expect and how glazes react together. There's always that moment of surprise when things are more than you hoped for and the kiln God's have been kind to you....they demand at least one sacrifice.... (There's a deep green leaf bowl with a foreign body in it on the bottom layer of the kiln)... All is well, now just have to get my act together regarding the Viking themed family fair....

The kiln is now full and firing....fingers crossed...

Smashed up some of my stained glass scraps to put into some of my ceramic pieces.... I'm always amazed looking at raw glaze.... its gloomy appearance that changes with the application of fire..

First layer in the kiln and growing helped along by The Waterboys, Dutch Irish band The Buskers and Chris deBurgh........
