Summer, it's been a good one. But autumn? We're ready for you. 🍂

We're sharing our FREE autumn doodles colouring sheet — perfect for little ones at home, a quiet half hour at the kitchen table, or even just an excuse to dig the felt tips out yourself. No judgement here.

Leaves, conkers, pumpkins, cosy mugs, wellies... all the good stuff.

Save it, print it, colour it in — and share your finished version with us. We'd love to see how you bring it to life 🎨

The lovely window art we provided for the Remembrance Garden has faded somewhat, so from tomorrow, committee member and local artist Lisa Noon will be touching it up to get those poppies looking bright and lovely ready for Remembrance Day. If you see her at work please stop to say hi and thank you! She is doing this for free using materials donated by another committee member.

This is exactly what the Outdoor Gallery is all about. 🎨

Thank you, Geoff — it means so much to know that the festival is bringing people into Ashby from across the whole area. That's the power of art in a community. It doesn't just celebrate the town — it puts it on the map.

The Outdoor Gallery is one of our most-loved parts of the festival, and it only happens because of the brilliant local artists who share their work with us. If you came along and walked around this year, we hope you loved every moment of it.

Have you ever tried string art? 🌿

A wooden board, a handful of nails, and some coloured thread — and you can end up with something that looks like this. Cacti, flowers, geometric shapes, even portraits. The results are always a little bit surprising and a lot more satisfying than you'd expect.

It's one of those crafts that looks complicated from a distance but is actually incredibly meditative once you get going. Great for older children and adults alike, and brilliant for a rainy afternoon.
