I went and had a proper look at the wildflowers growing in Severn Square yesterday (the result of the seed bombs we made at the community project last year!!!!🤩). They are absolutely beautiful, and such a welcome pop of colour in a drab area of functional street furniture.

When I get a delivery of large bloom chrysanthemums, the flower heads come wrapped up in little ‘hair nets’ to protect the petals whilst in transit.
I keep these to reuse ♻️ as I’m trying to do something about the amount of plastic waste generated by floristry.
So far I’ve used them for keeping ribbon rolls in check, for other flowers to keep them from blowing open, and in some sewing projects.
I have 2 questions for you:
A) how can I reuse them? Give me your best and wackiest ideas!
B) does anyone want any of them? I have hundreds 🙈🤣

This is a fantastic local gem with lots of activities going on that deserves to be supported

If you've been to stay at Shining Cliff hostel, or use the Beech Hut, or booked to attend a session in the woodland, then you've most likely used the private track to access our car parking area.
It's been an goal for a LONG time to improve the drainage on the track and to have it resurfaced in stone to make it a pleasant experience to drive along, rather than one where you worry about getting grounded in the ruts!
Today the track repairs started, but it's a very expensive project and we would love your support. We've set up a Crowdfunder to help cover the cost of the repairs, if you are able to donate or share the Crowdfunder link we would be hugely grateful!
Shining Cliff hostel is a not-for-profit organisation and ploughs back income from hostel bookings into caring for the hostel, so any donations help us to keep on going!

How cool does this look! Not far up the road from here either 🤩

We are pleased to share the good news that MakerSpace Ashfield, based in High Pavement House in Sutton, is hosting a grand opening on Sunday 7 June and everyone is welcome!

There will be tours available from 11am with the official opening at 1pm, along with refreshments and the chance to speak to the MakerSpace committee about any of the machines or tools.

The MakerSpace is an exciting and unique communal workshop, offering people who don't have the space, or means, to access specialist equipment the chance to work on projects, hobbies, upskill or just have a go. There's dressmaking, printmaking, woodworking, metalworking, 3D printing, laser cutters, embroidery machines, messy crafts and much more on offer in the MakerSpace!

We funded the project back in 2021 from our Future High Streets Fund and supported the formation of the MakerSpace committee who now solely run the space.

The lines between my ‘day job’ and my creative career are becoming increasingly blurred, as I’d love to grow my own flowers and do creative workshops with flowers instead of sitting in a shop all day - but I’m too proud of this not to share!
