Well that's a wrap for 2026! Thank you to all our amazing artists who opened their doors and welcomed us to their studios; thank you to visitors who came along, browsed and bought; thanks goes to all the makers of cups of tea and cake that were consumed in aid of charity and finally a big thank you to our volunteer venues who helped distribute our brochure with Acoustic Distribution A great year and we'll be back same time in 2027. Hope to see you then!

Volunteering at Ash Dance Festival today! Planning new paintings in the quieter moments! If you are looking for a local, supportive and family run dance school, Duo Dance Studio is fantastic ( based in Ash and Aldershot) they are hosting today - My son Joe has thrived with their support!

I'll post how these new pre-sketches develop - 'ballet' will become a watercolour, 'Eve' a large mixed media work, and I'm thinking 'First Exam' would look great as a large piece in heritage inks! Bx

Heart going out to all affected by the tragic death at the Big Church Festival. We went a few years ago. It is a family festival, there's a funfair, ice cream etc. The music is choirs, pop but with Christian words, lots of very talented artists and musicians. Its an inclusive event, loads of different churches with different views, every ethnicity, sexuality etc there, just getting on and enjoying the sunshine.

I'm holding in my heart anyone affected directly, or who saw upsetting things. Just as I'm praying for those affected by the natural disaster in Nepal, many of whom are a different faith to myself.

There's been upsetting mocking I've seen online - what society mocks the death of a 41 year old man, who would have been a father, brother, uncle etc, just because of his faith? A man who was there to listen to music, enjoy art, worship and eat icecream.

Music, drama, art should bring us together. It should educate, heal and help us aspire to better things. It can shock us too - but it should prompt us to have views, opinions and dignified debate. You don't have to like it, you just have to respect that someone took time to create it. Whether it is faith based or secular. It teaches us to be open minded.

So whether your festival choice this summer was pagan, Christian, other religion or secular I just want to say, thank you for the artistry, musicianship and debate - art makes society better. Bx

Open Studios for us is 'Over and Out'!
What a fabulous week! 63 visitors at the final count! 34 free leather bangles made and lots of free wands, fairy doors and paintings! Lots of cakes sold - I will tot up the final result, but I think Animal International will be very pleased! Thank you to everyone who came along - we have so enjoyed meeting you! Thanks to the fellow artists who came, and I'm looking forward to possible future collaborations! And a special thank you to all the children who were wonderfully behaved and full of enthusiasm!
We will be back next August, but do keep in touch as I'm planning a Christmas gallery of children's work with activities! Bx

Last day of Open Studio today at 3 Royale Close GU11 3PT. Lots of free fun for arty children too! 10am - 5pm. Just turn up! (Park on the driveway, or street - please do not turn in or block neighbour's driveways) ###

Still time to visit Open Studio at 3 Royale Close GU11 3PT today, we've had 6 visitors so far this morning! We are open until 5pm. Today and Friday there are free art activities for kids ( printing and leather bangle making) In a change to the Hampshire Open Studios booklet we will only have the exhibition tomorrow 11-2, but are back fully on Friday our last day 10am - 5pm; exhibition, activities, cake stall X
