We wish to make official the total cessation of our collaboration with the curator Ilya Smirnov, whose motivations, political affiliations and the violence of the remarks he made were unknown to us until recently. We officially cease all collaboration with the artists he has chosen to exhibit at the Lily Robert Gallery via Money Gallery since his arrival in Paris. We totally disassociate ourselves from the extremely violent and pro-Russian war rhetoric that he has been able to hold via the gallery's private messages, which have nothing to do with all the work we have been trying to carry out with Lily Robert gallery since 2018.
We would like to state that all the artists represented by the gallery so far have no connection with the political convictions or choices of the curator Ilya Smirnov.
We would particularly like to support this statement and completely dissociate the artists we have represented from these ideals.
We do not in any way support the Russian invasion and mass destruction that is still going on in Ukraine today. We do not support the dramatic consequences of this war or the moral and political cynicism of the Russian head of state who is behind it.
This collaboration was a big mistake and is our responsibility. We understand the consequences and wish to apologize to all those who were verbally abused during these interactions.
We also wish to certify that curator Ilya Smirnov currently has no access to the Instagram official account or the Lily Robert gallery space.
