We are running an international contest with festivals held in Megacities to support the production of short documentaries raising awareness about urban challenges. By 2050, over 70% of the world population will be urban dwellers, dragging an increasing number of social, economic and ecological challenges. We believe that in tackling those issues, Megacitizens should be central in inspiring meanin

gful and concrete solutions to our decision makers. Through the support in the production of shortdocs and their broadcasting - both online and during festivals - MEGACITIES SHORTDOCS gives a voice to the community of Megacitizens to help them shape the city of tomorrow. We mobilize universities, companies and local institutions in an effort to support co-creation in the development of solutions for the future of our megacities. The MEGACITIES SHORTDOCS international contest will culminate during the Local Festivals around the world and close every year at the Grand Festival in Paris.

🎬 São Paulo – and what a night it was.

Our awards ceremony in Brazil brought the international tour of the 11th edition of MegacitiesShortdocs to a beautiful close.

Films about urban challenges and the people meeting them head-on, celebrated in one of the world's great cities.

Thank you to our Brazilian partners, to the audience, and to all the filmmakers who made this edition so special.

🎬 Back from Cannes – and still smiling.

It's hard to put into words what these past few days have meant to us. Watching our filmmakers' stories unfold on screen in Cannes, seeing audiences connect with urban realities from the other side of the world, sharing those quiet conversations after a screening – these are the moments we live for.

None of this happens without the talent and courage of our filmmakers, who trusted us with their stories. None of it happens without the audiences, the partners, and the incredible community that has been built around this festival since 2014.

We are deeply grateful.

The adventure continues – next stop is São Paulo, then our international tour.
The stories keep traveling. 🌍

🎬 Your films are traveling the world !

Since announcing our 11th edition results, we've had incredible screenings across France. Audiences in Paris, Vitry-sur-Seine, Arcueil, Lille, and Bordeaux have already experienced our Official Selection films, and the response has been wonderful.

Now, the journey continues:
🎭 Next stop: Festival de Cannes!
🇧🇷 Then: Awards ceremony in São Paulo, Brazil
🌍 Followed by our international tour starting with India, Singapore, and Dubai (security permitting).

These documentaries are reaching audiences around the globe, sharing stories of urban challenges and solutions that inspire change.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we received over 250 films from 27 countries around the world. Even more exciting – we're welcoming 4 new countries to our festival family for the first time: the United Arab Emirates, Portugal, Palestine, and Canada! 🌍

We can't wait to discover the stories you've captured, the ways you've told the tales of your cities – their challenges, their solutions, their incredible vitality and spirit. Every film represents a unique voice, a unique perspective on urban life, and we are honored that you chose to share your vision with us.
