Le film « Pierre Pinoncelli, l’artiste à la phalange coupée » reprend son voyage : après la France, la Suisse, la Macédoine, les Etats-Unis et le Canada, les deux prochaines projections auront lieu en Inde, le 31 janvier au Chambal International Film Festival (Rajasthan), et le 22 février au New Delhi International Film Festival.

Ces projections auront un sens particulier : lors de son périple "Nice - Pékin à bicyclette" en 1970, Pierre Pinoncelli avait traversé l'Inde et photographié des sâdhus qui apparaissent dans le film, 55 ans plus t**d...

Audience Feedback after the screening of the Toronto/Los Angeles Documentary Feature and Short Film Festival.

Synopsis :
Since his two attacks, with urine and a hammer, on Marcel Duchamp’s urinal, in 1993 then in 2006, artist Pierre Pinoncelli is known worldwide for his iconoclastic and subversive actions. Often misinterpreted by the press, this dual performance and the resulting trials have overshadowed the rest of his work: his paintings from the 1960s and the many forceful happenings he has staged since then. Often motivated by political statements or to denounce societal contradictions, Pinoncelli takes his work to the end, and expresses himself in often shocking gestures that challenge us. Working for months in a slaughterhousek, going to China on a bicycle, robbing a bank for the symbolic sum of one franc, damaging Marcel Duchamp’s urinal, cutting off a finger to protest the kidnapping of Ingrid Betancourt, in the long list of Pinoncelli’s happenings, many have led to injuries, arrests, trials and fines.
