Art-O-Rama 2026 🫧💦
For our second presentation at Art-o-Rama, Pâme brings together works by Carole Mousset and Alix Marie, two French artists whose practices locate sensuality on the threshold with the unsettling. Moving between flesh, organic matter and strange creatures, both artists find eroticism precisely where attraction and repulsion begin to overlap, revealing a seductive quality within the visceral and aqueous.
Mousset’s works are part of a series of paintings commissioned exclusively for Pâme’s seventh edition. Titled “The Sargasso Dance”, the series explores the mysterious reproductive cycle of eels through an imagined aquatic sexuality, where slippery bodies, secretions and marine organisms entwine in an osmosis of deranged desire.
Alix Marie’s photographs, selected from a series of wearable works created for The Photographers’ Gallery’s Summer Party, approach this ambiguity through fragments of bodies and marine fauna. Magnified into visceral surfaces, these forms reveal an unexpected sensuality.
Reproduced on a glossy silk, these images acquire another layer of sensuality. Soft and luminous, the material invites touch precisely where the image might otherwise provoke withdrawal.
For Marseille, a port city where salted bodies exist in heated proximity with marine life, Pâme brings these wet silk prints together in line with the city’s carnal energy.
