I couldn’t sleep and decided to go down memory lane and watch all of my performances and interviews on Daystar with
Turns out we met exactly 3yrs ago on May 10th 2023 which is when we filmed this episode of Ministry Now.
My album Glory Hour had just come out May 5th 2023 and Daystar was the first media outlet to platform me during the promotion of my new album. Later on many other tv shows had me on including the Today Show and The Kelly Clarkson Show.. but Daystar was first.
I wanted to share this because I’m grieved by all the negative commentary around Joni’s life… I think she concealed pain and silently suffered through a lot of things over 40 years of ministry because of how easily someone can be crucified by the very ones that they dedicated their life to serving.
When so much of your life is on television for all the world to see, it’s easy to only reveal the parts of your human experience that align with a “good Christian brand” . Anything outside of that box surely would be picked a part by the crowd.
Christians are humans too. And the human experience is full of all kinds of things. Good things, bad things, ugly things… live long enough and you’ll experience it all.
What’s amazing is that God loves us in the entirety of our human experience. Not just the “Good Christian” part of us.. but also the shameful parts.
The question is… can we love ourselves with this same kind of love?
If God loves all aspects of you ..including the parts of you that don’t deserve to be loved..then why do we find it so difficult to love ourselves to this same degree?
Once we normalize loving the entirety of ourselves the way that God loves us, then we stand a chance at loving our neighbor with this same kind of grace, empathy and compassion.
We can only love our neighbor to the extent that we love ourselves.
No more casting stones.
There is grace, mercy, forgiveness and freedom for all.
“I don’t have to pretend like everything’s okay,
that’s not what Jesus meant when He said to have faith,
If you see me crying I’m being true
Instead of lying about what I’m going through
I’m trusting God to heal my every wound
And I know He will
He makes all things new
