Well, this was unexpected 🪲💧

Found a beetle that somehow made its way into the aquarium — definitely not a resident we were expecting! A good reminder to always keep an eye on open tanks, especially if you’ve got lights on at night that can attract flying insects.

Rescued it safely and back outside it went 🌿

Found a little surprise on the glass today 🐌🥚

Why our betta fry live in little circle containers 🔵🐟

Betta fry aren’t the strongest swimmers when they’re young, so keeping them in individual circle containers makes feeding way easier and helps them grow up without the stress of chasing food across a big tank. Small space, big growth 💪

It also means we can keep a close eye on each fry’s progress as they develop!

Bringing in some cleanup crew for the betta fry tank 🐌💧

Adding snails to help maintain water quality while our tiny fry grow up — these little guys work around the clock eating leftover food and algae so the tank stays cleaner for longer. Teamwork makes the dream work 🤝

Snails are a great low-maintenance way to help keep water quality in check, especially in fry tanks where water changes need to be gentler.

Boys will be boys 🐟🥊

Had two male swordtails going at it in the tank, so it was time to step in and pull one out before things got too heated. Sometimes a little separation is all it takes for peace to return to the neighborhood 😂

Male swordtails can get territorial with each other, especially in smaller setups — something to keep in mind if you’re stocking your own tank!

Moving our angelfish babies over to their new growing tank! 🐠✨

(Yes, we said “swordtails” in the video 😅 brain said one thing, mouth said another — these are 100% angelfish, we promise!)
