After more than two years of study and preparation, I have successfully passed the DipWCF examination from the Worshipful Company of Farriers.

The DipWCF (Diploma of the Worshipful Company of Farriers) is an internationally recognised advanced farriery qualification that assesses a farrier’s professional competence at a high level. The examination is designed to test not only practical skill, but also deep theoretical knowledge and professional judgement.

Candidates are examined across several demanding areas, including:• forging and manufacturing horseshoes• practical farriery and shoeing of live horses• hoof balance and gait assessment• anatomy and physiology of the equine limb• pathology and lameness considerations• oral and theoretical examination

The qualification is awarded by the Worshipful Company of Farriers in the United Kingdom and represents a significant professional benchmark within the farriery industry.

The training was organised by with different lecturers travelling from the United Kingdom to teach. The courses were held in several locations across Finland.

Our group consisted of nine Finnish farriers and myself as the only Estonian participant.
