ከ ዉቡ የብሩክሊን ድልድይ ጀርባ ያለዉ አሳዛኝ ታሪክ። የድልድዩ መሀንዲስ የነበረዉ ትዉልደ ጀርመናዊው ጆን ኤ. ሮብሊንግ ሥራውን እንደጀመረ ህይወቱ አለፈ። ልጁ ዋሽንግተን ሥራውን ቢረከብም በጠና በመታመሙ እሱም ወድያዉ ህይወቱ አለፈ። በዚህም ምክንያት የልጁ ሚስት ኤሚሊ ዋረን ስራዉን ተረከበች, ስድብና ትችቶችን ተቋቁማ ድልድዩን ታግላ በመጨረስ ግንቦት 24 ቀን 1883 አስመረቀችዉ። ግንባታው በሚካሄድበት ወቅት ቢያንስ 20 በላይ ሠራተኞች ህይወታቸውን አልፏል።
The beauty of the Brooklyn Bridge has a sad backstory. The German designer, John A. Roebling, died shortly after starting it. His son Washington took over, but he got too sick to continue and also passed away, so his wife, Emily Warren, stepped in to finish the job. The bridge finally opened on May 24, 1883. At least 20 workers died building it.
