This project took our Year 10 students on a journey from observational drawing to personal expression. We began by learning how to accurately draw heads and facial features from direct observation, before tackling more challenging angles, facial expressions and foreshortening.
Students then explored techniques inspired by a range of artists, experimenting with line, colour and pattern. In their final outcomes, they combined these influences with symbols and imagery that reflected their own identities, creating thoughtful and meaningful self-portraits.
A challenging and rewarding project that helped students develop both their technical skills and creative confidence.
