Nature and belonging, parent & child LOVE! I am so THRILLED to announce that you can get the book I illustrated in shops and online in USA. Sunbird Books

“I tell you that I love you” is the most wonderful poem written by Tanaya Winder, a member of the Duckwater Shoshone Tribe, I love the words she uses along with metaphors of nature, as a native mixed myself, it is a great reminder of our history and connections to nature, our sense of belonging and how important the natural world truly is!

In the book you can follow along a mom and her daughter, reminding us of that sacred bond between parent and child, while they go across majestic landscapes, in each page I made sure to add a little creature for you to find, to recognize and know, as the living animals are also part of our precious ecosystem.

Everything in this book has been human made, besides the words, as you touch each page think that these are real oil paintings, which were drawn, composed, designed and painted by a real person (that be me Kiyary • Artist • oil painter & Illustrator) and it was then scanned and edited to give you this tangible work of art. The process, which you can see in some of these slides, was the most satisfying part for me, as each page the sun was changing with the time, the colors were transforming, as a painter and not only an illustrator, this gave me the warmest feeling inside, challenged and at the same time feeling victorious with the results - Or as they say it in Asturian “ye muy prestoso”.

Thank you Amy Illo Agency Ltd. for perfectly matching my everlasting love for nature and color with this poem by Tanaya Winder Tanaya Winder and PI Kids for giving me the best team behind it! I hope we get more books like this one coming soon!

Painting Maminka & Tatinek protecting the Alcazar of Segovia,
Some Texts, some shots of them living retirement life, some more paintings, also fudge you AI. *insert evil laugh*

For artists: oil painting on paper, I always carry with me a tiny box I handmade and my sketchbook, along with some loose cotton papers - I ADORE to paint on these, they absorb the oil from the paints and dry quite instantly.

The painting from 2024 is made on another type of glossy oil paper that has texture, it rejects any liquid, so it takes forever to dry but it ends with very vibrant colors!

Last painting made with oil painting on canson oil paper, this one is a champ, drying time good, absorption good.
Got more questions? Ask me. I don’t bite, unless you are AI.

The creative process is never a straight line. I still like this idea but I believe the little comic connects better with the feeling.

Rumor has it we might have an exhibition about this, coming up soon. Specially cause this matter is so pressing and important.

Tatinek and Maminka were here for summer and it felt like spring

Every morning we had breakfast together with warm bread freshly brought from the bakery by my dad. My mom would make something delicious, my dad would set the table after bringing the bread and any other ingredient my mom would need. We would sit together and enjoy, like we used to when I was a kid or even a teen.

We would ask each other how we were feeling, if we have had any dreams or nightmares. My mom would have the weirdest wildest dreams, my dad would not remember his, but he would tell us the newest machine he would be making, or invention, or perhaps a new weird thing he found in his “deposit”.

Mom and dad were here for summer but they made it feel like spring.

I painted this while they were there just being, present, in the living room. I used oil paints.
