Rediscovering paintings I created twenty years ago feels like revisiting different versions of myself. Through them, I can remember who I was, what I felt, and the paths I have traveled since.

The body has always been a territory of emotions in my work, a place where desire, vulnerability, and identity meet. 🌀🪐

These two paintings are traces of that journey. A reflection of how I saw the world then, and a reminder of how art allows us to revisit our past through new eyes.

Her face is calm. Everything underneath her isn’t.

I wanted to paint what’s left when the version of us we perform finally cracks not blood, not memory. Just structure. Drawers. Things we built to hold what we never opened.

Maybe that’s what a vestige really is: not what we showed the world, but what was still standing after we stopped trying to.

The Feathered Empress is a painting about power, conviction, and inner alignment. The woman portrayed embodies a conquest that has little to do with the external world, yet transforms everything it touches. Her presence is not born from domination, but from a profound inner sovereignty.

It is the representation of a hard-earned victory: a crown claimed after confronting and reconciling the enemies that once lived within herself. Her strength does not come from the absence of conflict, but from having faced each inner battle with determination, ultimately becoming the ruler of her own kingdom.

This painting took me time, and it holds so much power in its details and in the depth of its meaning — where so often what we see is only the surface.
This woman cannot see with her eyes. And yet, she sees. Every fragment of her blindfold — lace, fabric, gold — is a layer of what we hide, what we protect, and can only find by looking inward.
This week I want to take you inside this piece, layer by layer, so we can discover a little more of her together.

I’ll be exhibiting at Art Zurich International this week, from May 8–10.

“Ethereal Beauty” will be part of the presentation a work exploring inner transformation and the space between what is seen and what is felt.

It’s part of an ongoing reflection in my practice, where different layers of identity and perception begin to shift and coexist.
