To round off our Tamworth pub tour, we made our way to The Old Bank House! 🏛️🍺

Situated on Lady Bank, this 1845 Victorian building holds a blue plaque marking its history as Sir Robert Peel's Tamworth Savings Bank, the town's very first purpose-built bank.

Behind the stone exterior, you will find several cosy, intimate rooms filled with fireplaces, crystal chandeliers and deep leather armchairs, as well as a beer garden to the rear. It is a wonderful space to settle in and soak up the atmosphere.

At the bar, you will find a great selection of cask ales alongside ciders from a range of breweries and cideries with up to date listings on our app. 🍻

It makes a brilliant final stop on our trip around town! ✨

Next up on our Tamworth pub tour was a true step back in time at the Moat House! 🏰🍺

Located on Lichfield Street along the banks of the River Tame, this magnificent Grade II* listed Tudor mansion is just a short 5-10 minute stroll from the town centre. Built in 1572 by the Comberford family, it has hosted royalty over the centuries, and even welcomed The Beatles back in 1963!

On approach, the grand red-brick facade, five stepped gables, and tall chimneys set a dramatic scene. Inside, we were greeted with high timber-beamed ceilings, grand stone fireplaces, grandfather clocks and book-lined oak panelling. Being featured on CAMRA's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors, it is recognised as a rare gem of architectural heritage. Outside, there is a spacious beer garden lit up with colourful festoon lights and a historic summer house.

At the bar, ale lovers are well looked after with a solid line-up, including our personal favourite, Titanic Brewery Plum Porter, which is always available! You can easily check what's on using the Real Ale Finder app.🍻

Supported by a great team, it is a spectacular venue where history and great beer come together in the heart of Tamworth! 🏛️✨

Next stop on our Tamworth pub tour was the Hop House! 🍺

Located on Market Street, this craft bar brings a stylish, contemporary feel to the local pub scene. Inside, deep forest green walls are paired with relaxed booth seating and even a retro tabletop arcade machine tucked into the corner. There is also a nice spot to sit and people-watch on the paved street outside.

The bar offers two rotating cask ales alongside keg beers and ciders. You can keep track of what's currently pouring by checking their live board via the Real Ale Finder app.🍻

Supported by a friendly team behind the bar, it adds a distinct modern flavour to the town's ale map. Another pub worth visiting! ✨

Next up on our Tamworth pub tour was the legendary Tamworth Tap! 🍺

Located on Market Street in a historic 16th-century building, this pub and microbrewery (home to Tamworth Brewing) is a true icon. Step inside and you're greeted by ceilings draped in dried hops, rich wood panelling, and a bustling, warm atmosphere. Out back, the beer garden is a stunning hidden gem accessed from a side entrance. Framed by ancient stone boundary walls, including a section of historic Saxon wall, and sitting right beneath the shadow of Tamworth Castle, this cobbled courtyard is filled with vibrant floral displays, festoon lighting, and a covered stage for live music.

As you'd expect, the beer selection is top-tier. Their handpumps feature a fantastic range of guest ales and real ciders alongside house brews like 'Whopper!'. You can easily keep track of what's on with their live TV menu, which is powered by the Real Ale Finder app and you can check the board before heading in too.

Next up on our Tamworth pub tour was the Sir Robert Peel! 🍺

Located on Lower Gungate, this family-owned free house is a proper traditional pub packed with character. Inside, you'll find white panelled ceilings twinkling with fairy lights, classic red bar stools, and the legendary "Bu****it Corner" sign hanging proudly to the left of the bar. Out back, there is a fantastic hidden beer garden framed by historic stone walls and weeping silver birch trees.

We started off our Tamworth pub tour at The King's Ditch! 🍻

What a gem of a micropub, and usually the first stop if you're visiting by train as it's less than a 10 minute walk from the station. With large front bay windows, the decor inside features dried hops hanging across timber beams and a cosy upstairs room covered top-to-bottom with pump clips and framed CAMRA awards.

Featuring up to 4 rotating cask ales, 2 keg beers, and a massive real cider and perry selection, cask beer is poured via traditional gravity dispense rather than handpumps. You can easily check what's available via their digital menu provided by Real Ale Finder, or through the app before you even walk through the door!

It's a multi-time finalist for CAMRA's National Cider Pub of the Year, and you're always guaranteed a warm welcome from the super friendly team. Definitely one to check out! 🏆✨
