🇬🇧 “The Barcelona Notes / Les Notes de Barcelone” are now a reality!
After two months of nearly obsessive work, revisions, translations, layout, and many hours in front of the computer, I can finally announce that these new lecture notes have come off the press.
This project was born thanks to a proposal by Pascal Marc, organizer of the Enigmagie 2026 tour, who suggested that a significant part of my lectures be dedicated to the figure and magic of my mentor and friend, Gabi Pareras. What initially was going to be a lecture focused solely on my professional repertoire turned into something far more special: a book that brings together two ways of understanding magic, deeply influenced by the legacy of Arturo de Ascanio and born in the same city, Barcelona.
The notes are available in both English (“The Barcelona Notes”) and French (“Les Notes de Barcelone”) and contain eight complete routines: four from my professional repertoire and four by Gabi Pareras that I consider especially representative of his thinking and unique approach to magic.
I’m thrilled that part of this lecture tour will also serve to continue spreading Gabi’s legacy and bringing his work closer to non-Spanish-speaking magicians. After over thirty years of friendship, learning, and admiration, I feel this book is also a small tribute to someone who profoundly shaped my way of understanding both magic and life.
In just a few days, I’ll be starting a tour through France, Belgium, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, and these notes will accompany me at each lecture.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed writing them.
